5 through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles in behalf of His name, 6 among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ;
7 to all who are beloved of God in Rome, called as saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, because your faith is being proclaimed throughout the world. 9 For God, whom I serve in my spirit in the preaching of the gospel of His Son, is my witness as to how unceasingly I make mention of you, 10 always in my prayers requesting if perhaps now, at last by the will of God, I will succeed in coming to you. 11 For I long to see you so that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be established; 12 that is, that I may be encouraged together with you while among you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine. 13 I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that often I have planned to come to you (and have been prevented so far) so that I may obtain some fruit among you also just as among the rest of the Gentiles. 14 I am under obligation both to Greeks and to the uncultured, both to the wise and to the foolish. 15 So, for my part, I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome.
Here are the verses we are focusing on today. Feel free to comment or ask questions: Rom 1:5 through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations, Rom 1:6 including you who are called to belong to Jesus Christ, Rom 1:7 To all those in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Rom 1:8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed in all the world. Rom 1:9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I mention you Rom 1:10 always in my prayers, asking that somehow by God's will I may now at last succeed in coming to you. Rom 1:11 For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— Rom 1:12 that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine. Rom 1:13 I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, that I have often intended to come to you (but thus far have been prevented), in order that I may reap some harvest among you as well as among the rest of the Gentiles. Rom 1:14 I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish. Rom 1:15 So I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome. ASV

@Wind_Waker I think the local time thing is tough to make work. But in the long run I don't think it is a problem anyway. People can add their thoughts anytime as well.
@-cheese- it has been harder to get folks on at the same time than anticipated, and the format of the site makes interacting in that way difficult, especially with the comment delay. Discord would work better but many cannot go there. We are thinking of some other ways to do Bible study here that might be more flexible and will update people.
Since there is an interest in studying the Bible some of us will still post studies at times. We are going to focus on individual passages, and allow people to read and post as they have time. We will post these using the #Biblestudy tag, probably under our own names, as it is easier. God bless!
@tall73@Wind_Waker I'm ok with my weekly bible study irl tbh. But I LOVE that you are trying to help people understand God's word!! It's very caring of you! I know that God sees your efforts and will bless you for it!
@izzaa God didn't want us to be mindless robots so he gave us the choice to love him if u want and to not love him if u want! that is y he sent Jesus so that we didn't have to be perfect and never sin. so even if u sin u can ask for forgiveness, and believing that u will get it, u will be made clean.
i love @Bible_Study..or bible studys in general.. it helps alot more when you get to discuss questions and share your veiw on things going on around you
about why God created us.. i guess it's kinda like when you make a work of art.. yes it was time consuming, and probably pointless... but glade you did it.. for me personaly it's kinda like when your lonely, or having a hard time, as depressing as this might sound, i make up someone to talk to and to listen to, i supose it's like if a person is lonely, and couldn't find love, they might find another way to live..
in this case God knew we where gonna sin against him but perhaps that risk just haved to be taken, maybe he knew not all would be lost..after all, if this account exist, then we atleast know that people are still trying.. and i comend you on that, i guess this might just me rambling on and on...and might not make any sence at all .... but it never hurt anyone to try.. righ??
@Happypokemon Beautiful testimony ! :) Ik im late to the party lol "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." - Revelation 3:20 ♥ (KJV)
Hello @MaggieSue327 ! I apologize for delaying on answering too you're comments, but I am glad you have been encouraging this account! Regarding you're comments above, the Bible says that God knows all. Before the creation of the world, to eternity, God set everything in place precisely how he wanted it to go. It wasn't pointless, he created us with the intention of us giving him glory, Col 1:16-17 "For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether-
-thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together."
Hello @iizzaa ! Forgive me for not addressing your question sooner, but I'd like to tell you why God created us knowing why were going to sin. Short answer, to glorify God. Long answer, God created us knowing that we would sin so that he could send his son Jesus Christ to redeem his elect Christians so that we could praise hime for giving us salvation that we couldn't earn, and we don't deserve, because without doing something wrong, we wouldn't need more mercy.
Here's an analogy, if a room isn't dark, why do need a flashlight? If you aren't hungry why do you need food? Now, it sounds bad that God set us up for failure so that he could redeem us, and many people strugle with that, and I don't won't judge you if you do, but God has a right over his creation, to do with it what he wills, like you have over your art.
Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father Romans 9:21

In this chapter Paul uses the word 'Gentile' to describe the recipients of this letter. Gentiles are someone who is not a Jew (a person of Israel)
16 Sep, 2022, 10:27 pm
Notice how he calls them 'saint' in verse 7, becuase after the renewing salvation believers find in Christ Jesus, we are found blameless

Forgot about the comment delay, but nowwe have it in two versions.
The ASV is also public domain, so we can use as many verses as needed.

@-cheese- yes I think school and time zones make it challenging.
Also, some may not control their own schedule (parents, etc.)
