i just finished getting yelled at for like 20 minutes lol.
my dad was getting onto my art..
he was saying my art isnt good. and that (all) anime art is sinful and terrible. i told him that i wanna go to art school after high school next year- he said he will not ever give me permission for art school.. he said he wants me to be an eye dr- and that thats what ill have to be.
.. ig i should be happy that they even let me draw considering how bad they think it is.
idk..

he just kept saying how terrible my art is..
i just got no motivation .. im tired of being yelled at.

@ArtisanLydi First off, I'm really sorry that they said all of that.
Second, screw what they say. You're almost 18. It's YOUR job. It's YOUR life. It's YOUR choices, not theirs, and they shouldn't force their daughter to be where she's gonna be unhappy if they truly love her. The world, I hate saying this, doesn't revolve around them, and you CAN'T control someone. I know it hurts, but try to focus on what LYDI likes doing and what LYDI wants when they yell at you, not what THEY want.

Third, anime isn't a sin, nor is art. Art is a hobby, a passion, something that you like to do. Who are they to say any different? You shouldn't be beating yourself up because this isn't parenting. Yelling constantly, no attention, no affection when their daughter is thinking it, forcing (yes, forcing whether you see it or not) their daughter to do what THEY want, to fit THEIR mold, ain't parenting.

I know there's some way to get through to them, but it's all up to you and you alone. YOU make YOUR choices, live YOUR life, and do what YOU want to do, NOT. THEM. understand me?
