Those textures look very nice! I especially like the bark on the tree. Such a beautiful bird too!

I know how nerve-wracking it is to work outside your comfort zone. But if you never try, you never have that experience. So go forth with that idea in mind, and it might prove to be easier for you.

The detailing is amazing! Very much worth the effort! It's great that you have someone who can reassure and motivate you. It's so easy to dwell in our own faults so an outside perspective can really help see past that and progress. :D

@Mewsea Thank you!! The tree branch was one of the most difficult parts because there's so many colours and textures for it, so I'm really glad you like it.
And I totally agree, It's often quite stressful to try new things but I definitely feel like I've learnt a lot from making this. There were parts that I thought would be harder than they were. I might try more realism in future as I have a few photos that I've taken that I think would look good. And it'll be a challenge :D

This is an extremly awesome drawing of a bird! You prefectly nailed the realism in this drawing. Sometimes, I wish I was as good as you in terms of drawing goodly nice looking paintings on Colors Live.

@crimson_666 Thank you!! And to be honest I winged it a little. I used the bristle brush a load on this, which is a brush I haven't used much before and now its easily one of my favourites, especially for textures. I'm happy it looks real, as the branch was one of the hardest parts

It almost looks like there's a water shadow-reflection on the underside of the branch
