Oh, so here's a bit of trivia for these guys.

Dragonkin live for a lot longer than humans do, as well as remain in their prime for a longer time.
So even if their children are adults, they can have more children if they want to. 'o' Most don't, but in some cases like Kuruki's parents, after losing their first born, and their second child going off to become the next guardian, they wanted to raise another. :'c
