I thought the cause is some undetected minor bug on playback, and it stacked over and over and causing saving failure.
But your guess might be possible too. Should report it to @Jens

Been passed to him via discord, it seems there are reports with 'save and continue' as well. He'll take a look on that.
Yeah for me, it could be possible because it never happened before that 'save and continue' feature being added. But yeah i don't know anything about coding. LoL not that easy (fyi: hunting this bug will be rewarded by 5 superlikes ammo)

@Acchan ,thanks for passing it on, discord hasn't been downloading for me. does this mean both are glitched? i also know nothing about the coding at all but i have a few theories for the result of coding which i'm still trying to prove wrong (this + next comment) but seem to be holding up fairly well.
i consulted the coder in my family and they said this:
save and continue and save and exit both save on the same line of background, one function coding . save and exit also uses exit but they

said that won't affect anything.
what they saie joins onto a thought about when save and continue was added, that one-function background code might have been altered slightly. not enough to show obvious signs or break it completely, but enough to cause a bug or two as the background code would have a slightly different function which, as it is its only function, would mean the save wouldn't be completely doing its actual job, resulting in the save glitch in crashing and save loss

Yeah iirc there are few reports before on the tech channel about save & continue as well, it's rare but also some users had experienced it, i just feel bad for them who lost a lot of time because of this bug.

@Acchan ,luckily I know very few people who have experienced the glitch but it does ravage through the unsaved data...
how long has save and continue been around and how long has the glitch been going on for? It could be the code that links the two if the times are the same

Hard to tell if that's really the cause,. At least if there are some steps/action that will trigger the bug and can be reproduce by anyone if following that , not a random encounter, that's the matter.

@Acchan ,i'm not sure if its one bug or multiple bugs? like a kinda slower save or slight lag bug with another minor glitch to create something thats larger and effects more

it would make sense on why the bug has managed to stay hidden
