This is so amazing!!!! Doing portraits where the teeth are showing is so difficult and I think you did an amazing job!!! I think the mouth might be at a slightly different angle than the rest of the face but I am certainly not an expert on portraits and it still looks amazing!!! Also the rendering of the hair and eyebrows is quite possibly the best I have seen!!!!!

This is so impressive! It feels wrong to critique something that is so much better than i can do but since you are asking for critique i would offer some advice that my teacher gave me. It is often very tempting to go further rendering the parts we enjoy or are strong at before the rest of the piece is on firm ground. I watched the playback and saw this issue come up for you. It is something to watch out for because working on the whole piece equally can help keep it cohesive without reworking.

This is my first colored portrait and the mouth was a massive struggle, so it's hard for me tell if I went too overboard trying to replicate the smilie effect. I'm hoping to receive some more feedback/critiques soon so if I have time to rework this lady, I can post an updated version by the extended deadline. Thank you so much again!!! :)

@RoseSoup Thank you so much for your feedback!! I completely agree with your analysis-- I am a huge culprit of avoiding areas that I see as being weaker on, so I rework areas that are already done so I can avoid the weaker parts; I feel my work is at a high risk of lacking cohesiveness, like you said. This is a very important behaviour that I need to correct. Thank you again for the wonderful advice. :D

25 hours is some heavy job! I think if I had spent some more hours on my portrait it maybe could've been as shiney as yours!
You ask for feedback to make adjustments, but you should not want to work on this anymore, they are saying 30 hour playback will give problems uploading :)

@madwurmz.com That's good to know about the 30 hour limit, I suppose I will keep this as-is then! I am just beginning to learn, so I'm hoping to wean away from these longer times in the future... with your incredible skill set, I could see you accomplishing this 'shiney' effect as you say in a fraction of the time :) Thank you again for your feedback!

, it is fun to look at it, the coloring is very fluent! I would even think it is a challenge to paint that long and stil make it look fluent and simple, i mean its hard to make it look simple you understand it

I understand what you are saying; my main goal was achieving good likeness, so I had to keep reworking areas and stopped at this point as well because I feared I was starting to overwork it. I am glad it is fluent and reads well... I would like to add more fun details and whatnot next time, but since I'm not as quick as you I will probably break the upload limit. Ty again :)!

ha ok! but try to break the time , they say someone painted 100 hrs. so it is not a technical limit...

it is true maybe it will get slow or glitch i didnt mean to stop you but i also dont advicve to work longer on this haa

Just to be sure to avoid techinical glitches as muchas possible copy the painting multiple times during the process. Then if something goes wrong you have the previous save. I do this compulsively, and it hasd helped me a few times where there was an unrecoverable error.

Ok, so I somehow managed to vanish instead of giving your feedback.
In any case, this is great, especially the skin texture. Everything was done very cleanly. The teeth, usually a challenging subject, look quite good.
Is this from the video interview she did? I was trying to find the reference to check out the pose.
At first I thought the eye looks almost too rolled back, but then I saw some other poses and this looks accurate.
It is an interesting choice of reference. It is happier than most of her pictures, which I like. But then you run the risk of it not looking like most think of her. I prefer the smile myself, though I don't really follow her much anyway, so probably have less expectations.
The only thing that seems a bit off (and it may not be) is the area under the chin. The transition along the jaw line is always a tough area, with a subtle shift of planes. Something seems just a bit strange on the angle, like the side plane doesn't quite come down far enough.
In any case it is a great portrait. Thank you for requesting feedback under the #rdfb tag, and sorry it took forever to give it!
