He is in shock.
The only girl he's ever had any connection to before was some lame emo girl who was just flirting with him because she was bored. He fell for her and she kind of rolled with it until she got bored with him and told him that she had an ACTUAL boyfriend and to go away.
That was enough for him and now he's SUPER suspicious of anyone saying they like him like that. Or at all...
