Picture for a friend by Vyse
A friend asked me to paint a picture with an elve flying towards a lotus flower.
The finished painting will be acrylic paint on canvas (my first try ever).
If someone has some suggestions about composition or something else, I would be glad to hear it. :)

This is cool. Good luck with the acrylics. As for suggestions, you could do with pushing the depth more. The expanse of water and horizontal background make it look a little flat. Try adding smaller lilly pads in the middle-ground and push your values more. Make the foreground darker. Tilt the light beam and allow it to fall on the main flower to create contrast and work the focal point. Hope this helps.

You're right, could look pretty cool with some middleground stuff and more arial perspective in contrast to a darker foreground.
