Butterfly-dragon(?) by The_Adjudicator

Work In Progress...

(a basic rendering of @lari_bs' request to draw a butterfly dragon)
This has gone through a few different early attempts, none of which felt right. But I think I like how this one looks so far. Thought it might be fun to model it as a common -backyard variety- lizard.

Anyway, I'm also using this as an excuse for some shameless self-promotion. Or in other words, I have plans I'd like to set in motion as a goal before the end of the year. at is to say, I'd like to set up for some livestreaming. I already have most of what I'd need to get started, but I should be able to get the rest of what I need for this before the end of the year.

A few things I'd love to do include art commissions (digital drawings, paper and pencil, clay sculpting, painting, tutorials, community projects, etc..), casual chat, or play some games.

The platforms I'd most likely be using include Twitch and/or YouTube.

It'll most likely take place on Saturday and Sunday at first, until I can more accustomed to the process as a whole.

I'd love to hear what you think. Is there something you'd like to see? Do you have any good advice for me? Do you think this issue bad idea? If so, what do believe I need to know? Please feel free to share your input in the comments. I've received a lot of good advice from criticism.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I do still plan on working on all the requests I've been given. It's a bit slow due to time allotment and motivation.

I unfortunately can't be there. I'm only 15, so my parents say I can't use twitch, and youtube uses my real name in chats, so not much luck. I think it's a great Idea for streaming and commissions, and I wouldn't mind playin some games. This all depends on when you're selling, and playing, so no guarantees. However, I wish you great luck in the future so I can brag I met you on a switc game. Jk!

And having you for casual chat would be awesome! Your personality is incredible, so if you get any haters, I know you'll be able to not let them get to you. Goodbye for real! :)

Mixing two different species with very opposite images is little bit tricky, dragon has ferocious image, while butterfly kinda beautiful. And yes you need more than casual pattern/motives also more bones on the wing to make it fly.

It might be easier at first to do video export and upload it with voice over, as I would think doing live right away might be difficult. But it would be cool either way. If you do, post your youtube.
Are you doing the greyscale first and then putting colors, or will this be monochrome?

@acchan
Good advice. I'll take it.
I will be sure to add structure to the stream. For now, I'm considering a few options, looking for what peoplr would want to see, and forming a structure from there.
As far as motivation goes.. I guess there's nothing else to it. Just gotta get my head in the game. I would like to monetize this some day, but for now it's just going to be some social activity.

Sounds like good advice to me. I have a friend who streams on Twitch already. I've been on his stream a couple times as a guest. However, when Fire Emblem Wariors: Three Hopes launches, we plan on streaming that multiplayer once a week on his account. I'll use that opportunity to familiarize myself with the process.

Also, this is how I like to start my paintings. Making a grey-scale model like this helps me to realize the idea in my head, and jot it down on a screen.
If you watch the playback on most of my character drawings, you'll see I start with something like this, then add lines to refine the character, then begin to color and detsil it. Then add the background and shading.

It's just what I found works for me. I change it up a little from time to time to see if anything works better.

I had seen some of that before on your playback. It is a bit like a grisaille technique, but you get to your color soon enough to not make overlaying it difficult.

Honestly, I would watch you draw, and give tips and tricks along the way(?)
