I enjoy making artwork and posting it for others to see, but its very disheartening when I come on to see multiple accounts of tracing and characters being heavily copied off of me.
I understand many of you may just be newer to art or do not understand why it may be hurtful but its hard spending hours drawing just to see someone trace over and claim your work as theirs is like a slap to the face. And its why im more hesitant to post my art on this platform which is where (cont. in comments)

i see it happen to me the most. nowadays, half of my art on here is privately posted for other platforms partially because I see this happen so much.
As for my characters, please note it is ok to be inspired or have something small from it design-wise. But taking my designs and stories and claiming it as your own hurts me and the time i spent refining their personalities and stories. Please be respectful

On that note, do not be afraid to tell me when someone does this because I would rather know so I can report. I will not be hostile but do know that tracing people's art affects the artist negatively

ALSO know i am not demonizing tracers. In fact, tracing can improve stability in drawing sometimes. it becomes an issue when you trace art from artists without permission and claim as you own or without credit. Even then I would be significantly more lenient with tracers tracing my art if they simply asked me and credited instead of oretending i dont use the same site as them and can see when they trace

That really sucks. I don't think that's happened to me (that I know of), but I've seen it happen to multiple people and not only on here. I hope everything gets resolved amicably. ^-^
