how do you draw so well?

what are your goals concerning art? and was there anything that inspired you to start?

@razberry20 Oh thank you!! Just lots of practice, honestly! I could lie and say I take the time to learn fundamentals but I never do hahaha

@mimo00 Ooo thats a good question! :o I see art purely as a hobby for me, making it professional would make me fall out of love with it so no goals in that regard - Drawing hands and dynamic poses right now are the goals I need to work on most! I got into art as a kid because my older sister @Peach_blush is an artist too!

@aussomesawse Hands down animal crossing new leaf and colors!3d, i have nearly 2000 hours each on them (YIKES lol)

@Vaporeon ahhh so many I love karaage and fried chicken in general, somen, poutine, raspberries, i also have a huge sweet food for cookies and chocolate :p

@ruthie awww ofc!! flippers is well fed, i mean look how round he is!! bahaha :P Drawing manatees everywhere used to b my signature thing in middle school/highschool, i'd draw em on worksheets and tests also the whiteboard lol i was annoying but i love manatees to no end!

@Hailsss definitely digital! I love playing around with colors and thats a lot harder on paper - but also the feeling of pencil to paper is so satisfying lol! I'm curious whats your preference on this one?

@ponopzop i really enjoy both digital and traditional, before i got colors live i only did traditional... but now i think im getting a bit too attached to the "undo button" xD

@Hailsss Oh that is so cool, I've always wanted to try dip pens!! Is there's any way I can see your traditional art? :o I personally just love sketching with pencil, or making lines with pencil and colouring with watercolours! Sharpie pens and microns are fun too!!

@ichiqwerty i actually have a answer to this LOL i like collecting folding fans especially if i travel and i find one i like to keep it!!! pedestal fans are goated tho

I know you didn't ask me, but I believe electric cars are polluting the environment people say that combustion vehicles are but they do not even come close to the pollution that lithium gives and lithium becomes airborne when it is mind.

I know that lithium is not related to carbon emissions but I believe that it is far more serious

@Acchan I think that solving global warming is in the hands of corporations actively destroying our planet, the individual contributions that the average person could try to make to combat it are frustratingly inferior in comparison. Honestly its not something I can say I've actively researched on how to fix but I think we have to start by holding corporations accountable on a large scale before we can worry about it on an individual level.

@TB_studios Ugh, I live in Alberta so I really get to see the worst of the worst hahaha. I don't have the energy to go into detail at the moment but it's frustrating, to say the least. I definitely had to reevaluate the values of many people in my life

@WetFruit_5534 Compared to the start of my gallery 10 years ago?? YES lol. I do think I've plateau'd in improvement over the last few years though which is frustrating. I like where my art is right now and know where I need to improve, I just really need to practice the things I always avoid (which causes me to plateau).

@zoron I definitely miss how active the community once was. I think it hurts more coming back to the exact same gallery as I posted on when I was a kid but everyone on it changed, seeing comments on my old posts and things like that is so jarring. It feels like nobody remembers colors how I remember it (except for exceptions like you). I also kind of miss being in the same age range as the general user population, even at 20 I feel old here lol

about the arm drawing i did: omg im so sorry i took it down right after i got on and saw your comment! i clearly wasnt thinking straight! i also made the cut alot smaller and marked it nsfw sorry i clearly am stupid and tired but hopfully no one can see it that doesnt want to, i guess im out of the contest eheh, i already knew i wasnt gonna win so its fine! thank you for pointing that out and ill definitely do better next time and if i ever dont notice something like that pls tell me if you can!

haha i feel the same way, its kinda a shell of its former self. i think the reason it got the traction it did was because flipnote hantena was shutting. i was 12-14 posting on 3D, (my old acc will be kept confidential HAHA, its so cringy). i really miss both. i had so many friends online because of it. there was such a strong community

@zoron omg I'm sooo curious what your old account is haha!!! There's so many old users that I wish I could reach out to but unfortunately their accounts are either deleted or they have no way to contact them :( The community now feels more tight knit which is kind of nice! I kind of see it as apples and oranges, the community then and now feel like two entirely different communities but both are really cool!

More thoughts, it is really nice to see kids enjoy this app like we did all thoes years ago. Coming back this app made me cherish the memories i made on it before. My odd account is one of the only archives of my old art that I haven't deleted or destroyed. and I can say I am a million more times happier than I was as a kid. So it is really nice to come back to this community dispite the differences.

Ahh I totally agree!! I'm so glad I never deleted my account or got rid of my "cringe" old art (I definitely cleared out a lot of old spam though haha) I can't even look at the bottom of my gallery but i'd be so sad to lose 10 years of art

@cherry-tea @Lydi072 I would wait until the online collaborative painting feature launches in a future update (one of the kickstarter goal rewards but idk when it'd come out), unless you have social media or some way to privately message. It involves password sharing so, not a great idea on colors coments!

So like, are super likes something only the admins can give or???... Sorry xD i cant find an explanation anywhere so i thought I'd ask you! lol

@Hailsss Lol I think most ppl are confused by them tbh!! Super likes were given to kickstarter patrons (one each I think?) back when colors on switch wasn't released yet. The other way to get one is to report an undiscovered bug in tech support (which is how I've received both of mine but I used one on ichiqwerty's manatee lol)

The windows beta works with Huion and Wacom pen tablets also, so when folks upgrade to fancy hardware they can still upload to colorslive.

@ponopzop One way to perhaps locate some users of colors 3d is to search for that tag on sites such as Deviantart, Instagram, etc. I saw a number of old users with accounts on these sites.
Eventually they hope to update the Android and IOS apps with the new features, and it will be a good chance to bring back some with nostalgia who don't own a Switch.
The windows Beta is currently an option as well for some of those folks who moved on to do art on Windows.

I just have a question about instagram. Im wondering if its a thing to upload old artwork, as in, my old artwork from colors live. Its just that most of my followers on insta are people from colors lol. So idk if yall would find that annoying? :o

@Hailsss I don't see a problem with it! What you could do if you're worried about posting too much is post them to your story and group them in a highlight (they stay on your page) or upload multiple images at once too? Btw make sure to save your pictures from colorslive.com and click share and save as a pdf for best quality!!
