A truly strange night, a disturbing atmosphere ... mysterious sounds and music that came from afar, from those ancient towers. They made me want to get closer. The fog was clearing in the light of that moon in the land of the "hunters" but I did not understand how far it was from me and my horse, I sat in the saddle and….

...rode off with confidence and bravery. along the way the music stops and everything gets quiet. my horse jumps with fear and throws me backwards. i stumble to get backup, my vision blurred. my horse stands in the distance. i start hearing voices of murmur get louder and louder. i then mounted my horse and put him to his fullest. the feeling of the wind on my face was elligant. though, i could still hear the voices. a girl appears up ahead in the trail. i slow my steed and looks at her. she had blonde hair and a white blouse, with a cloth over her face. i asked her what the towers were in the distance. i waited, but no answer. the murmurs stopped and the girl giggled. she disapeard, and i continued on my journey to the towers...

Landing upon this foreign landscape ship engines damaged beyond my current capacity to repair. Not quite sure of the stardate, waking up dazed from cryosleep to an immediate Vhogash ambush can do that to you. I've been wandering this vast alien world in search of resources for days. As the landscape unfolds before me in the distance a image is coming into view. Strange tower like structures seem to reach towards the looming ominous foreign sky filling me with a since of regret for my current situation and doubt as to my survival. Not sure if these structures represent a form of art or monoliths that surve a purpose of a ritual. As the sunlight fades the remaining light seems to center upon the towers. Creeping sounds and shadows close in from all directions the only light remaining lies in the heart of these structures. So it's seems fate has formed my destination as it has my desperate need to survive. My journey leads to the towers.

@ShinobiX21 Well you complitely changed the direction … Or maybe not! It could be a parallel story of a second character , this tale is really in evolution. For the next ones I ask to continue the story of one of the two. I love sci fi!

I gave my steed free reign to pick through the rocky terrain, finding a path through upright rocks that obscured our view. As we descended into a slight dip in the landscape I saw Reginald's ears perk up, and nostrils flare. Something nearby had him acting skittish. Immediately I second-guessed my decision to venture this far from the village. I had heard many tales in my youth around the fire about the hunters that occupy this land. But I assumed that these were just stories to pass the time. Racking my brain, I tried to recall the descriptions of these hunters, but it was all a jumble.
In some stories the hunters were dark haired men--but not ordinary men. They could take flight like a bird. In other tales they were not men at all, but something like a lizard. And by some magic they could kill from a distance. Yet more legends indicated tiny figures who lived in strange huts made of metal, such as that of a knife. But that seemed impossible. Metal was exceedingly rare, and there was not enough ore in the whole continent to make something so large as a building.
As these confusing thoughts flashed through my mind I scanned the area for whatever was spooking Reginald. Suddenly I saw a flash to my right, far brighter than the violet moon above. I turned to discern what could be lighting up the night sky so brightly. But what I saw refused to register. I had no reference to categorize what I beheld. The light seemed to come from a rod, being held by a man-like form. But I could see none of the details of this stranger, due to the brightness. The light was similar to one of the oil lamps from the village. But it did not shine in all directions. Instead, it came out only in one direction, straight towards me. It looked like a bright funnel cloud, set on its side, expanding out, and shining on me. I tried to dismount, scrambling for any shelter I could find, behind a nearby jutting rock. But the light followed my every move. As my eyes adjusted I saw the figure was around my size, and had in its other hand another object I could not discern. It looked like a knife with a curved handle, but instead of a blade with a point it ended in what looked like a pipe for smoking. He (was it a man?) seemed to point this at me as well. I could not be certain, but he seemed to brandish it like a weapon.
I did not dare reach for my own small blade, strapped to my belt. I was not sure I could withdraw it before he would be upon me. Instead I held my hands out high, hoping he understood my gesture as non-threatening.
The light then lowered to my feet, but I was still illiumated faintly by the strange lamp. I began to make out a man, but wearing the most unusual headdress. It covered the entire area where his face should be. I could see none of his skin. He was dressed head-to-to toe in a glimmering smooth material. It certainly didn't look like the skin of any animal I had seen heretofore. From the headdress protruded what looked like long snakes that wrapped around him to his back. There he had a large pack.
He began speaking--if you could call it such--in a deep tone. I could make out nothing of the strange gutteral tones. I did not think he sounded agitated. That at least was a good sign. But I had no idea what to do next. I was at his mercy. I was careful to keep my hands upward, and visible. And I slowly said "my name is Garyn". I could see his strange headdress tilt on his neck. I couldn't understand his words, but this motion seemed clear--he couldn't understand me either.
Not knowing what else to do, I continued. "I am from the village of spiretop, some 10 spans beyond the great pit". There was no reading his expression under that strange covering. I shrugged, not sure what to do next. He put the bent pipe down by his belt, and touched a small round object like a plate that rested on his shoulder. It too was smooth, but looked to be made of metal. It was a strange yellow color. I had only seen such a hue in the swamp roots of

the great pit. He tappeed the plate, and then put his hand back to his belt.
I waited a moment then asked, "what is your name?" If he heard there was no indication. I slowly pointed at my chest and said "Garyn". He tilted his head the other direction.
How do you convey you mean no harm when you do not share the same language? I said "I mean you no harm." This time there was a different reaction. He spoke again, but as he spoke I heard another voice, higher pitched. It seemed to come from the yellow plate. I understood it!

The voice said "I come in peace." I felt a great relief as tightness flowed from my shoulders, not realizing until now just how tense I had been in standing with my hands up. I soon realized that we could now understand each other well, but only as the squeeky voice from the plate spoke, which was always preceeded by his actual low jumble of sounds from under the headdress.
He had now turned off the lamp--I didn't even see him douse a flame, or see any smoke from the rod. As we talked for some time he told a strange tale of his own. Had I not seen his unusual appearance I would have believed none of it. He indicated that he had been traveling on a--well I am not sure what it was, but the closest I could undestand was a horse--but made of metal. It did not gallop as a normal horse but flew in the sky. He said he had been traveling for a great distance, and had fallen asleep. This did not make sense. He said he slept for many years. No one in any village I was aware of could claim that.
He said that his people called him "Bannin".
The man then indicated that as he woke up from his great sleep he was being attacked. His metal horse was not functioning correctly and crashed to the ground. He pointed to a ridge a great distance away to indicate its location.
He said he had been walking now for days trying to find food or shelter. Shortly before night fell he saw the towers in the distance and set out to reach them.
I explained that I too was going to see these towers. My voice betrayed that I was uncertain about the wisdom of this course. I was not sure if he could pick up the wavering in my tone. He seemed to stare at me. Then he pulled off the strange headdress and I could see that he looked much like the men from one of the villages that neighbored my own, only with long, dark hair. Immediately I thought of the tales of dark haired, flying men from the stories of my youth. I hadn't remembered them riding flying metal horses, but perhaps I had misunderstood. Grunting he stated that he perceived I was holding something back. I looked down, not wanting to meet his eyes, but nonetheless I told him the reason for my fear. I divulged that none from my village would venture into this area alone, as they are inabited by strange men known as "hunters." But when I heard music and strange noises I had felt drawn to seek out the source.
He said he was not familiar with this area at all, and had seen no hunters, or anyone else during his travels so far. We agreed to tread carefully, but to press on to the shared destination.
After walking for some time I heard a strange tone coming from Bannin's belt. It was like one of the night bugs as it squeeked, but shorter in duration. It repeated again. He took a small pouch like object from the belt and stared at it. As I watched it lit up, but casting a pale green light. I was sure it must be magic, and began to step backwards, shocked at what I saw. He did not seem alarmed. He pressed the pouch several times and continued to stare at it. Finally he took in a breath, as though startled.
"Now it makes sense", he said. "When my horse suddenly froze I was not sure of the cause. But now I can detect that it is the towers themselves that caused it. They are emitting a powerful energy field".
"A field?" I asked, quite sure he did not mean a place where crops were grown, but equally sure I had no idea what he actually intended to convey.
"I cannot exp

plain completely, but think of it like the creeping vines that I encountered that grab at a man. Only, these towers can "grasp" from a long distance."
As I pondered what he meant we continued forward towards the towers.

During the walk towards the tower complex the two characters continue to talk and understand each other thanks to Bannin's technology that Garyn does not fully understand, it seems to him a kind of magic since the two worlds of origin are different and have had different evolutions over the course of the past centuries. But speaking in both of them begins to insinuate a sort of awareness ... that they are both simply inhabitants of the same planet but separated by a very long period due to something that happened previously?

the two begin to hear cheering, relaxing sounds and music that invite them to come closer. Finally arrived at the foot of the staircase they see the blond and sweet figure appear (one again and the other for the first time) but with an expression of veiled sadness. An iridescent passage opens in the protective force field and the girl leads their way silently inviting them. Bannin begins to talk to her: "We follow you inside the towers because there is something we both can't say no to ... you are conditioning us mentally with music and these voices, of course! At least tell us who you are and what you want from us travelers so different .. "

and she remains silent. With one beckoning hand gesture she pulls them towards her. As she walks up the steps of the tower, leading the two travellers further upwards towards the highest point, the music grows ever quieter until it has completely dissipated into violent silence. Even the sounds of echoing footsteps gradually fade into nothing.

I must be vigilant. This whole situation seems off. This native Garyn looks very young and naive and this woman is.. almost unreal. I can't help but feel drawn to her. As if my body is obeying her commands. As I scan the internal walls of the structure I see strange symbols carved frantically into the metal surface, I ask Garyn if he knows the language. There is a pause. This translation gap will screw us if we need to cooperate quickly and efficiently. Especially if we face any of these "hunters". Wait, is he talking? The silence is now completely overwhelming.
The woman looks at me with piercing eyes. I think she senses my hesitation. What the hell are we walking into?

Climbing the stairs, the two adventure companions see many signs carved into the metal surface of the castle; Bannin doesn't understand them but Garyn does! G: This is a fortress, very ancient… the symbols are very similar to my writing and I partially understand their meaning, but I don't know some ideograms. B: Well I don't understand them so I trust you, could you at least tell me what it is? This is certainly a defensive fortress, where I come from there are castles but not of this type! You must know that I come from afar but we live on the same planet. My civilization has progressed to such an extent that we have built robots (they are similar to humans but metallic) that are our slaves, they do the most dangerous jobs for us. G: I don't understand your magic and I'm impressed! I live in a small town and we don't have your “magic” you have a sparkling horse and you fly in the sky… but I'm not afraid of you! You didn't hurt me! Maybe we are similar ... We shouldn't have arrived this far, the elders had always prevented us from crossing the limit of the "Portal of evil" but my horse Reginald seemed to run madly towards this forgotten and dangerous area. This music and this girl have soothed and captivated me! B: I understand you perfectly, she is hypnotizing us she is talking to us mentally to make us docile, but I don't know why! G: The symbols are quite difficult but I repeat I understand the meaning! B: Speak up! I am curious and eager to know! the compelling story continues
