Can't wait to see what you come up with! I saw you were thinking about entering. It is a fun image to work with. But I left out the lilly pads and was so tired after nearly 6 hours I decided to leave it out.
this is gorgeous! I've been trying to comment all day but my colors was bugging. i love the painterly style and fuller body! the mood in this piece is just great.
Watching your painting process is so fascinating, the beginning part especially looks like magic to me haha. t This turned out incredible! I am loving how ambitious all the entries for this are, its pretty obvious people are having fun with it though!
@ponopzop I went back and re-watched it, and I think it confused even me in this case. I generally look to get a shape started to see where things will go. But in this case I started putting in the shadow and then changed my mind on what side the shadow would be on. This resulted in a bit of adjustment. I was using four different reference pictures with different lighting to give me ideas. In the end I figured out where I thought the hints of light were going in the original and went with that. So cool! I'm working on this challenge too. Your style definitely adds variety to the group of paintings entered so far.
