My drawings take so long to finish.. I might start doing quick sketches to loosen up before tackling my main pieces. It's also a chance to post digital stuff more often
I admire your more detailed work to no end but, I really love the looser brush strokes of this style, it really feels like an oil painting. I honestly don't think i prefer one over the other !
@ponopzop: It was always my goal to merge the two styles into one but I never quite got there. I want to have loose exciting brushstrokes but then include specific areas the painting that have precise detail and form
Welcome back! I like the looser style. Good range of values. One sitting paintings are fun. The only problem with them for me is that I get in a zone and can't see it right until I put it down a moment. But flipping it helps.
@tall73: Yeah, I always have to take a quick break, just to see it from a new perspective. When you're engrossed in a painting it's very easy to be blind to the mistakes
you say take so long to finish, but do you compare to speed painters or to traditional painters? :P I try to ignore time especially now the web playback is not working, it is just about the result
@madwurmz: thanks :) I take several sessions to finish a painting. I agree that the end result (and enjoying the process) is important, but I hardly ever upload anything because of the length of time it takes me to work
