LYSSA: the creator of the entire game. she's obsessive and controlling, and isn't really human- she's an anomaly that is so obsessed with her deltarune fanfic that she brought it to life in the form of a video game world full of sentient characters that she either stole from other unused games in the arcade (joey) or drew herself (sarah)
lyssa isn't that good at coding or art, so a lot of the assets from the part of the game she created are scuffed and glitchy
she brings a "player" in only to give publicity to her game- you "play" as lyssa, but she only lets you do what SHE wants you to do- if you (or anyone else) don't follow her fanfic script, she gets PISSED
lyssa has (or HAD) control over this universe, and will not hesitate to shatter your SOUL and break you connection to the game if you mess with her perfect story

the story has LYSSA spawn you in to play out her perfect love story...but everything goes veey wrong when she realizes everything in her world is sentient

joey is the origin of this story, because i originally made him as just a "deltarune character based off of me", but i liked him so much i made a whole story to put him in
joey is a chronic gambler- problem is, he has the worst luck in the world
he's unreasonably tired all the time (narcoleptic), which makes him seem like this grumpy antisocial guy, but he's the exact opposite- all he wants is to hang out with friends, and he's fairly goofy as well (while staying low energy)
however, due to his RBF (resting bit.ch face), he looks unapproachable and doesn't get many friends
he makes all his important decisions that he's conflicted over through gambling- whether it be with his "lucky coin", or with the WHEEL OF JOEY
he's an integral character in the story, and is the direct opposite of Duke- a really nice lowkey guy with really really bad luck

SARAH: goddamnit i forgot color in her left sleeve lmao
she's only existed since yesterday (in her time), and doesn't know what to do with herself
she's a character created by lyssa, made to be a timid flower goat girl (a ripoff of the goats like asriel and toriel) that would later in the "fanfic" be lyssa's girlfriend
however, when sarah is brought to life by lyssa, her personality is totally different than what lyssa wanted her to be
sarah's own personality that she developed is an entire shi.tpost lmao
she's totally ripped (cartoonishly of course, so her muscles only show up when she rolls up her sleeves) and can bench 350 pounds
sarah quotes memes on a regular basis, and is overall just a jolly idiot
so instead of timid flower girl like lyssa wanted, the fanfic girlfriend turns into a youtube meme compilation in real life
her personality besides being a literal meme is a friendly outgoing person with a side of existential crisis (from being a poorly drawn character brought to life)

DUKE: he's not very developed at the moment, but he's the one of the main antagonists of the story
he's a spoiled big ego brat who becomes even MORE spoiled by his ungodly luck stat
he's a lucky boy
he wins every gamble, and hoards huge amounts of coins and money at the arcade (the arcade is the main setting of the game)
he's joey's archnemisis- known as the Duke of the Arcade, everyone in town knows of the age-long rivalry between Joey the Loser and the Duke
if you check their stats, joey has an unprecedented luck stat of 0, while duke has a stat of 999

the main plot of the story goes that lyssa's fanfic game gets hijacked by an unknown villain, and a "dark world" appears in the arcade, despite the fact that lyssa never CODED a dark world into her game
the duke is the ruler of this dark world, an untouchable being who dominates all the arcade machines in the land, and is being used by this unknown hacker to further delve the entire game into chaos

duke already is in his dark world design, but the other three also have dark world versions and powers- i'll draw them later when i get the chance
