Saw a cool tutorial by Jordan Grimmer on YouTube and just followed along for a bit. There were some parts where he started bringing in photographic elements (since he was working in Photoshop) at which point I had to just sort of improvise.
Kind of crazy to realise it's taken until now before I really understood the capability of the 3DS brushes to achieve different types of strokes. For most details, I would vary the size of the brush for different grain or use an airbrush and then use the eraser tool to achieve sharp edges and shapes which look a LOT better than trying to literally "paint in" each stroke like I normally would. Bah, who needs fancy brushes!

Really cool painting and I like the little person standing there :3 I wish colors will get a selections tool and alpha lock, then we wouldn't need to erase so much :3

@ColoredSpangus12 Sure, I can see what I could do, what did you have in mind?

Sounds like an interesting tutorial. I like the high contrast in this one. I have tried a few of those techniques, but struggle with the airbrush with erased edges one.
