@zoni_lilly Here are you questions!

1.) @zoni_lilly we're in your zone now! Tell us about it! What's your story?

2.) Style is truly your domain! How did you develop yours? Who or what were your biggest inspirations when growing up and developing it? Also what got you into art in the first place?

3.) So what's your artistic process? When you've coming up with things to draw or have already started, how do you go about it?

4.) So how'd you end up in the zone known as Colors Live? What are you favorite things about the community and kept you around?

5.) We're working on getting switch 2 dev kits which means Colors Live or a future iteration of Colors Live will take advantage of the new features and extra power! Once that happens, what would you want to see feature-wise? What's a feature you wish Colors Live had already?

6.) You have quite a lovely gallery and best of all we can see the great progress you've made as an answer when we view it! Of all your upload works which are your favorites? How did they push you? What milestones as an artist do you hope to achive as you further improve?

7.) Favorite art both on and off Colors Live? What makes them stand out to you?

8.) You saw this question coming! Spill it-- what're your top 3 favorite Colors artworks out of the many thousands? What makes them special to you?

9.) Your style is quite unique! How would you break it down for someone who wants to study your art or learn from you?

10.) Is Colors your only artistic medium or is it one among many? If it is, how does it fit into your art flow?

11.) What's a strength of yours that's also weakness? And how do you turn one of your weaknesses into a strength?

12.) Goals and plans? What schemes are you plotting for the future? How do you plan to accomplish them?

13.) We may be getting new Colors Live users soon as people get a Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 for Christmas during the holidays! For those potential Colors Live users, what advice do you have?

14.) When you're feeling no-so-in-the-zone how do you get back into it? Burnout is tough to deal with so what do you do to overcome it?

15.) What's the secret meaning of life?

16.) Before we zone-out, who do you want to shout-out?

.) @zoni_lilly we're in your zone now! Tell us about it! What's your story
Hello my I’m @zoni_Lilly. I don’t know what to say because I’m nervous :D. So let’s do some random facts!
I’m an American Christian artist. My favorite color is pink. I like anime, video games, indie series animation, and art in general. Oh! And crafts (I’ve always been a craft enthusiast and have recently gotten into making cosplay props; I really want to make a master sword lol!).
The origin of my name is actually from an old Zelda self-insert OC (I know, cringe, BUT FUNNY). My intention was for her to be a ZONAI princess named Lilly.
I spelled it “zoni,” and well it just stuck lol; which is cool (and less cringe) if I use it for future social media in the future!
Also I never thought about how my name might be perceived if you were unaware of it’s wEiRd LorE, but having it compared to the word zone is cool I like it >:).

2.) Style is truly your domain! How did you develop yours? Who or what were your biggest inspirations when growing up and developing it? Also what got you into art in the first place?

I would say anime for sure is my biggest inspiration, especially early-to-mid 2000s, and also my very talented sister @sleepy_head47 :3. She was the first to find this mysterious “anime style” lol XD!
I also get so much inspiration not only for my art but also for crafting from my friend group (we’re a very artsy/crafty friend group lol!).
As for how I developed my personal style (besides tons of trial and error). I kinda took the 2000s anime look and added a few extra details. My favorites are nose bridges and tear ducts.
As for how I got into art I started really drawing when I was about 10 or 11 when the aforementioned older sis found a YouTube video that was an anime tutorial, and we were instantly hooked. We bought all the impact books (does Mark Crilley or Christopher Hart ring a bell?!).
And yeah, that’s how I started art. :)
Sorry your question got cut out on accident !!! This is answer to question (3)

Well, when I’m coming up with ideas, it’s usually just what I feel like; Pinterest is a huge help though (we artists cling to Pinterest XD). I get a lot of ideas usually flowing through my brain all the time, but most don’t stick. I have to be pretty passionate about the idea I want to make before I go through with it. And as for my methods, I usually start with a really quick sketch just to get what I’m thinking down on my canvas to see if I like it in real life (sometimes my paintings have multiple previous sketches I never went with because I felt like they needed more tweaking).
Then I start blocking out how I really want things to look in the final render, and then from there, depending on how I’m feeling, I’ll either choose to do very clean line art on top of the sketch or just run with the sketch and render off that.

4.) So how'd you end up in the zone known as Colors Live? What are you favorite things about the community and kept you around?

I actually started on colors! 3D I think back in 2020 one of my favorite YouTubers at the time, Love2DrawManga mentioned her time on here and at 5$ I couldn't pass it up! Colors! 3D as well as colors live have to be some of my favorite games on the Nintendo handheld family! The community is awesome, and I’ve met many amazing artist that I have a lot in common with.

5.) We're working on getting switch 2 dev kits which means Colors Live or a future iteration of Colors Live will take advantage of the new features and extra power! Once that happens, what would you want to see feature-wise? What's a feature you wish Colors Live had already?

I think animation would be really cool.
An addition to that (though this is more for the gallery), what if we had folders that were hidden from your main gallery? This would help if you don’t like clutter in your gallery. I imagine it would be off to the side with their titles describing what’s in them, for example, “Updates” or “Remix Bases.”

6.) Yo

6.) You have quite a lovely gallery and best of all we can see the great progress you've made as an answer when we view it! Of all your upload works which are your favorites? How did they push you? What milestones as an artist do you hope to achive as you further improve?

”Pixel Jesus.”
It was a new medium or style I had never tried before (at least not wholeheartedly). I just made things up as I went. I dont know how to explain it, but it felt like I was carving out the painting while rendering.

•”polygon link.”
THIS WAS SO FUN! I studied links polygons for hours to get it just right lol ;) XD!

“Profile pic:).”
I love Frutiger metro, and I went all out with the background! “Happy birthday Miku.”
It challenged me with rendering a lot of characters all in one scene, all having different color palettes!

“The Prommening.”
I challenged myself to draw this neon prom with no light dodge at ALL. I’m really proud of how far I was able to push the lighting effect by myself!
7.) Favorite art both on and off Colors Live? What makes them stand out to you?
I really like Horikoshi's style (the mangaka of “My Hero Academia”); his full colored pieces are extremely impressive.

Hailiss, our 7th artist of the week, is amazing at rendering. The way she colors is quite impressive!

Last but not least Fuu-min I love their art -very interesting note on their style whenever they draw like fanart their art takes on the style of whatever their drawing but their coloring is so unique you can always tell it ls them. I also love the soft shading style they use; it’s very nostalgic and cute!
すごいアート!ふー-みん!

I’m noticing coloring is what I’m most impressed with! I struggle to know what colors to use some times, so I can appreciate amazing coloring skillz.

8.) You saw this question coming! Spill it-- what're your top 3 favorite Colors artworks out of the many thousands? What makes them special to you?

•Saria guardian of the forest - Klausboss
One of the first paintings that blew me away on here.
•Link-Hailsss I strive to have those coloring skillz truly breathtaking!
•SM64- Captain_64
honestly looking back this is my favorite of the entries for this weekly challenge which is by far my favorite weekly challenge.

9.) Your style is quite unique! How would you break it down for someone who wants to study your art or learn from you?

The base of my style is a 2000s-anime-style but there’s a few touches and techniques I use to achieve my style including,
•adding unconventional details you don’t usually see in that style like nose bridges and tear ducts.
•I also like realistic teeth with really sharp canines!
•Lastly a coloring technique I injoy is using the “select fill bucket” and by making a flicking motions with the stylus it can create a great effect for hair texture!

10.) Is Colors your only artistic medium or is it one among many? If it is, how does it fit into your art flow?

No, i started on traditional before I found colors and I still draw very frequently on paper! I was very influenced by my sister; she always had a very talented eye for colors and is amazing with Alcohol markers. I strive when drawing traditional art to improve my marker skills, but I also want to get into watercolor. I have a friend who is AMAZING at watercolor, which inspires me I love her scenic paintings. :3

11.) What's a strength of yours that's also weakness? And how do you turn one of your weaknesses into a strength?

A strength that’s also a weakness?! These questions are hard! I would say the ability to lock in while rendering a piece … but only after I procrastinated and ended up still missing the deadline for a contest or such. I would say that’s definitely a strength that’s also a weakness.
And a weakness I turn into a strength? Ummmm, my lack of sonar pen which resorts me to have to recreate my own pressure control :) (I really need to get more nibs! XD).

12.) Goals and plans? What schemes are you plotting for the future? How do you plan to accompl

.) Goals and plans? What schemes are you plotting for the future? How do you plan to accomplish them?

Definitely to continue art and improve my rendering skills. Understanding of anatomy and posing is something I look forward to improving; that way I can make more fluent pieces.
I’ve been training most of my skills on paper, as I find it easier to grasp the concepts I’m learning. I’m actually trying to fill this massive sketchbook I have with studies and sketches in hopes it will help me improve.
And I really want to learn to animate! :)

13.) We may be getting new Colors Live users soon as people get a Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 for Christmas during the holidays! For those potential Colors Live users, what advice do you have?

“Drawing is fun, but don’t forget to actively study it! You’ll improve much faster trust me! Also if you’re feeling discouraged when seeing others’ art, don’t be! Be inspired! Its much healthier way of thinking. :)” -zoni

14.) When you're feeling no-so-in-the-zone how do you get back into it? Burnout is tough to deal with so what do you do to overcome it?

I like going back to traditional. I find it easier since it’s what I started with. I love doing doodles, gesture/pose studies, and anatomy studies. When I have art block doing art studies is much more fun for me because I love learning something new, and BONUS, you come back stronger then EVER!!! Muhahahha.
15.) What's the secret meaning of life?
WOW dats a Cwazy question. I’m Christian and believe Jesus Christ is the key. My faith is very important to me; here is his message :).
John 8:12
I am the light of the world. whosoever follow me will not walk in darkness but will have light of life.
John 14:6
I am the way the truth and the life
No one comes to the Father except through me.
And of coarse a classic
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son and whosoever beleveth in him shall not parish but have everlasting life
