you know how characters in cartoons can be hit by trucks, blown up by explosives, and shot by lasers and still be alive? yeah what if that was dirt but times a thousand
not exactly that dirt can't take damage, just that he won't go down by normal means
he'll just keep getting back up somehow

he only gets durability if it's funny enough
he still can totally die which is why he's always terrified
he just doesn't realize that he has thicker skin than he thinks

@invalidation yeah i just came up with the idea so i'm just making up these rules as i go lol
i don't want him to be a legit unkillable god because that'd make the story irrelevamt but it'd also be a really good way to give him more personality if he refused to go down in dangerous situations
so maybe like
every cartoon character has a theme to them that defines what abilities they have
so maybe dirt's ability is represented through his permanent black eye and it means that his cartoon gimmick is being beat up a lot and that makes him ridiculously pain tolerant or something i dunno
still in the "new idea" zone
