Breaking the Ice by Athens
#Athen2 This place full of unruly, biased, narrow-minded, dumb...! She stopped herself and stared down at the concrete. Athens was to find a job for the winter, at least enough to keep their bellies warm, but those ponies must have turned even more 'conservative' than when she left. Most wouldn't take her in because she 'didn't have the muscle', others based solely the fact she was female! Her lack of magic knowlegde, her handwriting... They ALL were nitpicking out idiotic things!-cont-

Her eyes were green fires burning with a concetrated[sp?] anger. Oh, how she felt like /hurting/ something so bad! They would only send her out. She stomped her hoof with all her might on the cobblestone. Only a little pavement cracked under hoof. This only made her breath shake more in suppressed anger. Maybe she could go into a bar and crack some heads there. She could just claim she was drunk! Or, or...!

"Ah hem! Hello?" a voice flowed down the alley, breaking out her trance like a hammer smashing thin plates of ice. "Huh?" Athens turned, fur bristling, sizing up the stranger. He was brown, tall, and lanky- easy to pin down. "What do ya' want anyways!?" she said quickly realizing the time of day -no- night. She didn't want to deal anyone as of now, but this one was different. The /odd/ sort of different. "Heh, uh I saw you back there- at store I mean." his weird voice came out again. It didn't seem to fit his face at all, but still a very memorable voice. "Go on." she flicked her ear in impatience. Would this stallion stop studdering and get to his point? "I was wondering if I could I could hire you." he finally said. His face had an almost comical amount of fear in them, like he was over-acting or something. Mane ruffled and the stance of a servant. Yeah, this one was weird. -done-
