Honestly I think Colors Live is on a big dilemma between to keep the simplicity (the basic tools to paint) OR going advance with more tools just like common painting program nowadays.

Little tips from me about creating human figures in case you asked me how to do it. Even if you don't ask me, I'll still give you a tips: Practice. Yes only that the tips.
The effective ways to practice is live observations in public, but if you can't due the pandemic you may try it with photo references first, then video. But make sure to do it in quicky sketches. Draw from memories.

Honestly, the simplicity is why I love the Colors app the most. I like the freedom of just drawing with basic limitations.
I don't mess around with layers or any of the other stuff. I feel like it distracts me from enjoying the process of drawing

I think Iget you at the last bit about tools. I actually don't use tools as much as I could/should.
Also, finding inspiration from even the most basic household objects is an excellent sign of talent. maybe I should try that some day.
