I know how you feel, I feel that way about our dogs, too. Still miss our last dog, Flash, so much. I still keep saying 'We better get him a blanket, it's getting cold.' :'D

Second, I'm no professional or anything, but I agree, having an animal companion, especially dogs & cats, are really great for emotional health. They give you something to channel your affections towards, & also a sense of responsibility. And the love they give in return is just, ahhh, it's so special. They're also a lot of work though, so it's best to make sure you're ready for all that responsibility before you get one, 'cause it can be stressful, too, especially concerning money. Those little buggers sure can cost a lot at times. x'D
But if you're ready for the commitment, & it is a big commitment, I say it's completely worth it. I never regretted having any of the pets I've had over the years, even though losing them can hurt like crazy. That's the part that makes me afraid to get another dog, because losing my Jakey was really painful, & still is, even though he passed almost 2 years ago. But the love he gave & life he lived made everything worth it, even having to lose him...

Wow, that got heavy. Sorry about that, & sorry for the ramble. I, too, love animals, so I got a little passionate there, lol. x'D

If I had a dog I'd take them on walks everyday, give them infinite affection, and do a ton of research on pet health and stuff
