Crimson might be one of the youngest characters in Skey, he currently 19 in the RP as everyone else is somewhere in their twenties or far older, but as far as characters I have designed he is one of my oldest oc and is the second oldest I posted on colors (King is my oldest), his first picture was done December 12, 1998, meaning Crim 23 today (he probably older then most of the user here on colors...) Crim actually the oldest character in Skey

Crimson design was a bit different back then from what he is now, exactly his human design but I'll get into that in a moment. 7 year old me definitely could not draw like 31 year old me but I tried and I wouldn't be the artist today if I didn't try.

[ a dream equine in spirit ]

I always thought it funny how its always been referred to as my Trio, Catch, Mal and Omen, when Crimson was introduce in Skey before Omen was, odd enough it follow Crimson story of what he is in Skey, an outcast and outsider.... its easy to separate Crimson from Catch, Mal and Omen as the 3 of them are Fantasy Like equine and Crim a dragon but that not exactly the case...

When I first designed Crimson, he was inspired by Epona from Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time, I was Enchanted by Epona in my childhood, she was one of the most beautiful horses I ever seen, with her reddish pelt, black and White socks, and two tone mane and tail but her colors wasn't the only thing that inspired me, Epona spirit did, in the game young Epona would run away from anyone she didn't trust and when she grew up she was know as a wild horse who could not be ridden and broken. However if you learn a special song, Epona would come to you willing and Link could ride her. In the game after learning epona's song that tamed the wild horse no one else could, Link gained a loyal friend who would stick with him to the end.

Crimson colors are inspired by Epona, and though his original personality is more similar to that of Catch is in the RP, very kind and caring. Crim personality in Skey reminded me of Epona, wild and stubborn until tamed and then he'll be a loyal friend that stick to you until the end.

Those who know me, know I love to put Symbolism and lore behind everything.

I do find it a cute coincidence, Crystal who sing and was able to calm Crim when no one else could or try to.

[ the first half-blood ]

Even though Crim original origin was inspired by Epona, he a lot different now, after 20 years Crimson is probably one of my most developed characters and many of other characters and species have been inspired by him.

Crimson doesn't look to different now then his first design, but at the same time a lot has changed about him to, he always been a dragon with Eponas colors, but now he a bright red instead of what Epona red is, the other main difference was Crim didn't have heavy plated scales like he does in Skey, he had smoother scales that made him faster in the sky but when I put him in Skey I knew my boy needed extra armor so I made his scales plated so he could take the damage I four-sided him getting ( which now he has chainmail )
the other thing Crimson original design was different from, was he only had one set of wings not 2, but shortly after making him I gave Crim his four wings, I wanted Crimson to be a /ace/ flyer in the sky, faster then any of my other dragon I had at that time ( I have dragons who are faster then Crim now but at one time he was the fastest I had )

However Crimsons design didn't fit fully in any of my dragon species I had at that time, he resembled two of my species to some point, my Crystal-gem Dragon and tiger dragons.

I gave Crim gemstones like the Crystal-gem and he had socks like them, his body shape was like them and He had markings and Stripes like the Tiger dragon and a tall more like them, some of his characteristics were also more like a tiger dragon his loud roar ( though it funny old Crim wasn't as loud as Skey Crim, he only shouted when he had to but when he did you heard him )
However he had a mane not spine running down his neck and he had four wings not two, something none of my other species had at that time.

Anyone who knows me well knows I don't exactly care for Hodgepodge design in both appearance and in lore, I like to have things have some since to them, even as a kid I just couldn't go, well Crim has four wings because that just cool! When no other of my dragon had four wings so I did the only logical thing, because even when I was younger I had to have things make sense and so I made a new species to explain why Crimson look the way he did and BOOM! the Bellezza were made (I didn't have a name for them for the longest time, not until colors were I actually had to give them a name :'D I have so many species without names it's not funny)

The Bellezza were made to explain why Crimson looks so different from any other Crystalgem or tiger dragon, that Crimson is a mixed breed between these species, mainly a Crystalgem and Bellezza, making Crimson my very first half-blood character and a Crystalgem dragon with 4 wings and a horse main

[ only human ]

Crimson is also my first shapeshifter. at the time of making Crimson my mindset about shapeshifter was much different, at the time I didn't think of just having a species who can just shape-shift naturally was even a thing, I pretty much had everything in little boxes, nothing shapeshifte and is why a lot of my old species like the Crystalgems, tiger dragon, Phoenix dragons and Bellezza do not have natural human forms so the only way my mind seen how to give Crim a human form was by some magic properties. These I came up with the idea of him getting cured and needing a human form to stop it...

I thought it was a cool idea, when i was younger i knew of story were a person was made into an animal but not the other way around so I always loved that about Crim and is what made him different then my other characters.

over time I better refined his story adding more to it and changing things to work better, like intertwining the Air-Rue to explain how Crim was given a human form, eventually the original story of Skey was started and a face was given to the monster who corrupted him, Nightmares.

Crimson was both my first shapeshifter character I made and one of the first human I attempt to

[ The boy with the white hair...)

Crimson first human design was ughhhh, awful, but not bad for my first human attempt, I'm sure you all seen 90's Crim, he had white hair and blue markings on his face and white wings.

A fun fact is, Crim white hair and markings on his face and body is what inspired the Vaseterm human appearance. I always like white hair characters and markings if Done Right can make a character look cool.

(Its because of Crimson many of my species are the way they are, exactly my older ones. )

Even though Crim was a red dragon he had White Wings in his human form, this had to do with his corruption at the time but Crim human form eventually got a updated look to resemble his true form better and had got a few different updates through the years.

Crimson newest appearance is what in Skey, his human design resemble his true form more compared to his old one, but an Eaters eggs of his old look are in Skey, after losing one of his bracelet and then getting it back on, Crim hair turned white, and it is possible that his wings will turn white as well but if that happens it will be because of something else then my other story that I think fits better....

In Skey why Crimson hair go white is because of two things, one his bracelets and putting amass amounts of order magic in him to worded off his corruption, and the other is, the form Meknee copy was Judas...a Vaseterm. (A flipped Easter egg that Crim was who made the human Vaseterm appearance but in story it was the other way around ) Crim hair will go back to normal black and white eventually.

[An Ace up the sleeve...]

When I made Crimson I was torn between two names, one was Crimson and the other was Ace....Crimson won out in the end and were I got that name from is because of 3 colors I used for his red color, one was /Crimson/ the other /Scarlet/ and the last was /Poppy red/

Scarlet and poppy are obviously more girl names, making Crimson the one I chose but I'm sure you notice the name Scarlet is still intertwined with Crim story and so poppy is as well but more on her for a different time...( there actually a picture post of her, hehe...)

But the name Ace has made a few cameo in Crimson back story for Skey, in the darkness time of Crim life, after stopping him form become fully corrupted and getting his bracelet back on, Judas called Crim /Ace/ and that made Crimson break down crying, hitting that the nickname Ace is something special to Crim.

And for more recent events, in the flashy back Crimson had when he was about to kill Malice, it was revealed why the name Ace meant something deeper to Crim, it was the nickname his father called him.

( I really love Easter eggs, even if no one else knows what I'm doing until lore post :'D but you can see I took something as simple as the names I was going to give Crim and put it into a story with him, giving Crimson the most depth and meaningful character I have and is the first Foundation of my design style for making deep oc and story, pretty much nothing get wasted with me everything can be made to have some kind of meaning)

Only species people who are close to Crimson would be able to get away with calling him Ace, Judas is one of those people, as Judas is kinda like an adopted father to Crim.

The name Ace can also be taken different ways, one was him being an Ace flyer, like i mentioned earlier, he was supposed to be a very fast dragon in the sky with his four wings and sleek design. ( you probably look back up the post and see what I did there now ;) )

but in Skey, the other is that Crimson has been an Ace up my sleeve, for most of the RP Crim roll has seen unimportant (at least from the outside view) he was a grumpy kid who yelled a lot, just a background character, with little depth or meaning or so most would think but if look at deeper I always had him ready for anything needed done in the RP.

I regionally had no intentions in having Crimson in Skey, he was my main hero in my Original story and in Skey Catch was that... but as the RP was playing out, I couldn't help but see Holes in both the plot and story, things were getting missed for the story and the plot was spinning out of control but most of all, things in my own story wasn't adding up.

The only tools I have are the characters I run in the RP and at that time, Catch and Mal were my main characters, one for the good as the other ( Supposed to be ) for the bad but Mal and Catch both were tide up most the time and I rarely got to do all the things I needed to for story set up.
So that were Crimson had Omen came in, from a pretty early point I seen the group needed help and so did I.

Omen/Judas was the main one to help the key hunters but also help me connect dots in the plot but his help needed to be something the group had to work to get.

Crimson was my ace up my sleeve for information for the group but like Judas, I wasn't just going to give the group information without them even working for it or I didn't want Crimson doing all the work ether.

If you look back at the RP you might Noticed I tried extra hard to keep Crimson away from, Malice, Catch and Eater, one reason why is because Crimson would have killed them back then :'D and the other was Crimson would have revealed stuff wayyyyy to Early without me having much of build-up to big Reveals. I remember freaking out to Lilly that Crimson if he ran into Catch, he be the one to uncover that Catch is a prince and likely a Descendant Faithful who is Malice ':s in other words Crimson back then would have tried to kill Catch because Crim back then was NUTS

Those who know me know I'm very Settle with my hints and breadcrumbs, I place them out along with Red herrings and then let people run with their Assumptions, but Crim is my tool that I grab the spotlight and force on a spot and shout 'HAY! LOOK RIGHT HERE!' Because out of my characters he is the one like Von and will do things himself ( if I need something done ) so I have to play Crimson very carefully or he revealed stuff to soon without including others.

[ the Dragon who cries]

Crimson in his dragon form has Blue marking under his eyes and his old human design he keep those markings in that form to.

The story behind those markings is that Crimson is a dragon who sheds Tears. This might not seem like a big deal but for the Crystalgem dragons it has more meaning.

Crystalgem dragons don't shed Tears, even if they are really sad or happy they are know for not crying (unless their half-blood then that different) or in very, very rare situations but ones who have those markings under their eyes do cry.

crying wasn't something the Crystalgem dragons did, their eyes are similar to snake were they have a kind of cover to protect their eyes but because of that they can't cry, so Crimson was tested for crying when he was little, he cried when he was sad, when he was mad and when he was happy, but their a deeper story behind the dragons who Shed tears one that goes back to the very beginning of their kind.

I love Symbolism, I put it in everything, I like to give deep meaning behind my characters and stories, sometimes I use symbolism to help explain something or Connect to something else, kinda like a theme.

In the story of Soledormirs keys 'Tears' have a very deep meaning behind them.

Nightmares don't cry, they have no Purpose in it, but Malice, Catty and Eater all have for different reasons.

It is no Coincidental that Fairfin love water. Its been mentioned before of the story of the Fairfin, there are many Tells on their origin but two involves /Tears/, one Version says the 4 moons each shed a Tear and give them to the last king of the Dreamer, for he wept for all that was lost to the darkness and with those tears burst a new hope, a light to shine even in the darkest times and those lights were called Fairfin. The other story is that a prince cried for his lost brother and his tears made the first Fairfins

Why do I put Such a focus on Tears? Because Tears in my universe or at least for Certain characters and species are Vessels for emotions in physical form... Tears are not only shed do to sorrow or sadness, but Anger and frustration, joy and happiness, ect... emotions are a huge part of my universe.

In Skey Crimson still has his Blue marking under eyes in his dragon form but I removed them in human form, this was because I wasn't sure if I should keep him to the theme of the dragon who cried but I'm glad I did, its just who he his.

The meaning behind tears have a great meeting in my universe and in time I will reveal more...

[The Sapphire star]

For a red dragon Crimson has Blue fire.

As I mentioned before Crimson design was kinda inspired by the Legend of Zelda orcarina of time, as Crimson true form color and his mane was inspired by Epona, but Crimson Blue fire was also inspired by the ice dungeon were you had to use Blue fire to melt Red Ice and a gas stove colors flames.

So when I made Crim I wanted him to have Blue fire instead of the traditional colors flames and I thought it be cool to have a red dragon with blue fire, I like my plot twist even as a little kid xD

Crimson fire ability can be both magic and natural sources but magic is the more dominant.

In my universe my species are Divided by those who have magic and those who do not, but just because something doesn't have magic doesn't mean they can't use elements.

Crimson has a tab bit of Tiger dragon in him, a dragon species who has no magic but still can Breathe fire because of organs in them.

my tiger dragon has glands within them that secrease a Napalm type saliva that when they wreak their teeth it spark and ignite's, creating their fire breath, they have oversized lung to give them better Endurance and give them longer breaths attacks, and because of these Giant lungs the tiger dragon are know to be very loud...( you can guess what Crimson inherited)

Crimson don't use his lungs for fire, he doesn't have to when he can control it by magic, Crystalgem dragons Constantly absorb magic around them from their Environment and store that magic Energy into their gemstones all along their body's, they can also Release a kind of magic.

You can think of it kinda like what plants do with air, Taking carbon dioxide and turning it into Oxygen, except this is with a dragon who uses earth magic.

The Crystalgem dragons can Channel this energy that they Collected and used their abilities, what that is depends on what their egg was exposed to During development, Minerals and elements have a big impact on what the Hatchling will be born with, including what colors of their gemstones will be.

The colors of the Crystalgem dragons gemstones is the color of that dragons magic.

Crimson gemstones are sapphire so his fire is blue. Being a egg of Royalty Crimson was incubated in a special Chamber were the Finest magic Minerals were around him, some of these Exotic minerals came from the land of dreams, the islands of Luce, its from there that Crimson gain the color of blue fire, because the land of dreams natural fire and Lava is blue do to the high Concentrated of wild magic.

Crimson ability to absorb magic let him manipulate fire, as long as there magic in it for him to feed on, he can even manipulate fire he didn't make himself

when his gemstones are fully Charged he can turn his fire breath into a condensed beam, the beam is Extremely hot and can easily melt Steel.
Oh, something else Crim can do with his fire is he can set himself on fire, he usually just set his mane on fire when he in charged up.
(Crimson would use this attack against frost Nightmare.)

However do to his corruption Crimson Subconsciously avoid using his fire, exactly when he becomes creepy, fire makes light and darkness fears the light, his fire is also connected to his Bellezza side

Crimson is half Bellezza, a Mysterious dragon species of light. Bellezza are also a high magic species and with this half Crimson fire can become white fire, colors have meaning in my universe (or they did before I join colors now that kinda toss out the window with some things xp) anyway, white fire was a sign of order magic. ( but this is only to species that are attached to my universe of the land of dreams )

Bellezza's are a species of order, they are dasically dragon Angels ( true angels with Morals, Integrity and Purity, not Modern fantasy kind were they can be unmoral and evil and still be call an angel when that really a demon )

Crimson in Skey dosen't fit the Title of an angel he more like a demon, but that has to do a lot with his corruption and not wanting him to be better. to be good involves working on the right direction and that can often go against what you want, something Crim is learning now, but it's why he slips up a lot, what he wants is easy Compared to what is right that feels harder to do. 
This is why you don't see Crimson using his Bellezza's magic that much in Skey, because he can only use it if it's for good Intentions not evil.

It's why in the battle with Malice after Crimson came to the decision to not kill Malice like he had planned but if he was to kill him it would be in Honorable combat, the fire he took over from the Nightmare king flames would have a more Bellezza's look to them, just a little though. 
Bellezza's magic always take on a form of some Creature, some examples, Crimson white fire will look like dragons, Crimson mother look like Horses, Teresa and Gemini looks like Butterflies, Boo's is fireflies, Death is birds.

Crimson still has a lot to except about his Bellezza's side in order to use it better, but he is slowly coming around with a lot of help.

For some reason though, I can't remember when he first appeared, ans when it happened before Omen appeared... My brain figured he was a more recent intro, so now I'm curious xD

Let see,
Crim first appeared in his own little scene after the second temple, the one were Hiiro sacrificed himself and were Malice corrupted Catch and Catch first got his dark form.

Crim can in awhile after the group left and got Hiiro key, he then proceeded to track down the rest of the key hunters and meet them at Nebbia, the town by the water, the first person he encountered was Mina who he got in a fight with and kidnapped her... Crim was pretty whacked back then... after the group left Nebbia and started on their travel Hiiro broke away and found Crim holding Mina and rescued her.

defeated Crim was very salty, After a little time he was going to go back to the group, exactly when he found out Malice was indeed following the key hunters and was with them but that when Omen showed up, at the time Omen first appeared no name was given, Crim only called him insults, like horse meat, ect... Omen was only described as a wing man to, but he managed to stop Crimson in facing Malice because the black bone Reaper was coming for the key hunters.

Omen only interacted with Crim off and on after that, pointing him in the direction of the key hunters when he lost them.

Omen didn't make an official appearance to the group until Terra death, which wasn't a good first show of him, Terra just die and then Omen appeared and was being a kinda of a jerk.
