cuz after so much time that they don't see each other, she starts to feel somewhat upset and empty (not like in a depressed way, you know when there's something that you don't understand why there something missing? Something like that) cuz years passed, and year by year she felt less happy. Then she starts to dream about him, but cannot see him very well (like a silhouette) she tries to approch to him but then she suddenly wakes up
that's how i imagine it the scenario

and btw you know the drama about sonic 134 issue? That basically caused a lot of hate on sally cuz of the slap. It depends of why she give that slap to sonic, cuz she didnt want sonic to risk his life

A girl who is 12 doesn't understand love and when she start to be in love, it can be Annoying or obsessive with that person they love. And like we see in amy's fantasies, she constanly imagine about sonic all over her and wants to have babies with him.
Now, a guy who is 15 - 16 can actually understand what they love the most. If that guy doesn't want to be with that girl cuz he have no intrerested in her, is not his fault.
Now that pepole make them LEGIT to be together is kind of disgusting and make an abusive realtionship "adorable".
Pepole should understand that fantasies isn't reality, and making amy's fantasies true is not a good excsue to make a couple canon
