Happy Halloween!
I decided to draw my sona/mascot as a Phouka! In a pilgrim outfit. :P
For those of you who don't know. Phoukas are fairy shapeshifters who could take on the appearance of a dog or a horse(there are more but these are the more common forms). They generally had black or white shaggy fur and brought both good and ill fortune!
Similar to the kelpie, they try to entice humans to ride on their backs. But unlike the kelpie, the phouka is rarely harmful and takes more joy in pranking and tricking people. The phouka is even considered benevolent in some instances and can serve as an adviser.
They can even take on a human appearance but keep a lot of animalistic features.
I guess she sort of counts? This was fun to draw anyway :)
I actually have a real childhood fondness of these creatures. Although I was kind of scared of them aha.

I'd heard of phoukas, I think they appeared in some fantasy series I read when I was younger?
I love that one little acorn in the top right. XD

Thanks for noticing : ) I've been away from home for a couple years on what I can only describe as a wacky adventure, but I'm home again. And I've been itching to see some of my pictures and drawing done in 3D, so expect to see more in the near future. I took some incredible pictures out there.
