On the road to Chestnut Town, Hiro, Toru, and Casey walk on Route 72 happily with bags chock full of candy from visiting the neighboring town, Azul Town. Hiro suggest taking a shortcut through Geist Woods. Alarmed from hearing his suggestion, Toru suggest that they should stick on the road that they are walkng on to safely get to the next town. ...with the moves that they have, they can thwart any oncoming ghost pokemon that haunt the woods. Relucantly, Toru went with both Hiro and Casey's suggestion and went into Geist Woods.
Soon afterwards, Hiro and Casey regretted their decision with Toru telling them that he told them so. Despite with the super effective moves that they learned for years, their overconfidence got the best of them and got quickly overwhelmed by the steady amount of Trevenants, Phantumps, Pumpkaboos, Haunters, Gastlys, and Gengars.
"Next time, let's stick with the route that they were on! If we just stick with Route 72, we wouldn't be dealing with this overwhelming problem!" said Toru with the fear trembling through his voice. The scared little pokemon run at full speed to get out of the haunted woods in order to avoid any of the ghost pokemon's attacks and finally meet Sophie at Chestnut Town as she looks both confused and giggles at the gang's misfortune.
