Hobbit by Douglas

This painting began as a test to try different painting methods, but evolved into a full work. An image of Samwise Gamgee from Peter Jackson's The Lord Of The Rings was used as reference initially, but the likeness was later abandoned. Also, the constant doodling caused the drw file to be well over the 2.4MB size limit and so only a portion of the work could be uploaded.

Nice how that hair has it's own sort of style going on.
... honestly, the first version you uploaded looked amazing already
now I'm curious to see what stage you're going to take this next :)

Great stuff, Douglas. I'm really loving the mute clothing. You've really worked them lost and found edges.

Man i love the "pencil" sketches at the beginning!
The final piece is insanely detailed, you can feel the amount of time spent on this. But i feel the shading of the face could have been a bit more pronounced, and the hair looks a bit cartoony compared to the realisticly rendered rest. still, my hats off to your dedication.

Thanks ya all! I wish the gallery would let us upload larger draw files. The clothing did turn out nice, but I'm not satisfied with the face. Maybe I'll go back and redo it one of these days.

Douglas, how about you send me whole drw via email and i will add it manually. I will need to lift the limits too.
