The giant lizard watched stupidly as Euterpe's paw descended towards it. Her claws struck the top of its armoured head, glancing off without causing any harm. It lunged in retaliation, catching Euterpe's wrist in its jaws and then rolling sideways, trying to pull her off her feet.

Luxia smiled at Althea, though it looked a bit strained, as she was focusing on holding the magic within herself. 'Try using fire against them. They hate fire, they do. That is... if you're good enough to create even a candle-sized flame...'

The lizards slowly began to fall back under the draugrs' onslaught, several sporting gruesome wounds from where blows had hit their unarmoured spots. As they backed up, they sprayed torrents of acid in an attempt to keep the draugrs from pursuing them.

The humanoid monster gazed for a moment at its decaying arm. It was hard to tell whether it felt pain, or anything for that matter. It then ran towards Stellarus, slashing rapidly with its undamaged arm.

The wyvern caught in Dianne's grip twitched, then slowly sunk down as dark blood seeped from its wounds.

{Stellarus continuously backs away, avoiding the creature's attacks. Once Dianne had finished it off, she raises it, leaps off of it, and lands squarely on top of the humanoid, crushing it. Most of the draugrs leapt away from the acid, but the few that got caught simply lost a bit of their armor, revealing the chemical smelling corpses beneath. As one of the lizards backs away while spraying acid, one of the draugrs lunges forward and jams its half melted pike down its throat.}

The armoured lizards were retreating in earnest now, moving back into the dark woods as fast as their heavy, lumbering bodies could manage. The one with a pike rammed down its throat choked, dying painfully as blood filled its lungs.

After Dianne killed the humanoid creature, the other voidspawn began to give her a wide berth, starting to recognise her as a threat.

Euterpe reered back flapping her wings inna frantic manner. She screeched a horrendous sound as the saliva from the lizard's bite began to melt her arm.
Almost like a a panicked chicken she began to smack the creature on the head with her outher paw until it'd let go.

Althea winced at the site of the battle field. "Fire right" She muttered as she look and aimed her staff at Euterpe's fight. //Here goes nothing// She though to herself before firing a spell at the two.

(I'll let you decide what effects of that are Rad, if it hits what it does, if it's even fire etc)

The lizard continued clinging to Euterpe's wrist, the acid in its saliva slowly eating through her feathers. The dragon's panicked swipes seemed to have no effect on it, armoured as it was.

...And then a small blast of fire exploded upon its back, and the lizard let out a hissing screech as it released Euterpe and hastily retreated. The fire spell had burned away parts of its armoured plating, and it didn't look happy.

Luxia turned to Althea. 'You see?! That was wonderful! Although, your spell wasn't quite powerful enough to kill it, but you at least convinced it to back off.'

(Ahh napping, that explains it.

{Dianne keeps herself between the voidbeasts and Stellarus. She breathes a gout of fire at the remaining voidbeasts nearby. The draugrs reform their line and turn their attention to the voidspawn near Althea and Euterpe, Dianne's two draugr wyverns bringing up the rear.}

Like a scared dog, Euterpe bolts back to hide behind Luxia and the others. She of course still snarled at the other beasts on the way there and began watching the monsters carefully before takimg her next move.

Althea smirked, she'd taken any kind of praise for her ego. "Alright how about this!" She said grinning before making a few more shots from her wand.

Meanwhile, at the exiles' village, a man stood just beyond the wall of flowers. He wore a strikingly purple coat that, on closer inspection, had been patched and sewn together in several places, with half of the right sleeve cut off. He had dark-blue hair and the telltale pointed ears of an Elf.

'Gods,' he murmured as he watched the flashes of fire on the horizon. Even from far away, they were clearly seen in the darkness. 'I didn't expect a group new to Beyond to fight so effectively against the voidspawn...'

The voidspawn were quickly becoming scattered and disorganised, if they'd had any organisation to begin with. Instead of attacking people, they were fleeing back into the nearby woods.

As Althea began to shoot spells from her staff, an explosion of magical fire went astray and set a nearby tree ablaze.

Luxia ducked dramatically. 'Watch it!' she yelled. 'Be careful with that staff! It's more powerful than your small brain realises! You'll kill us all if you're not careful!'

She then turned to glance back at Euterpe. 'Calm down, Loopy. The creatures are beginning to retreat. Once things quiet down, I'll heal your mangled feathers for you.'

{Seeing the voidspawn retreat, Dianne breaths a sigh of relief and rallies her undead. After making sure Stellarus was ok, she approaches Euterpe and Luxia.}

Dianne: "So, does someone want to explain to me what's happening here? Why is Euterpe here? Luxia? You're the one who opened the portal here, aren't you?"

After the monsters had fled Althea sighed. A smug grin was written all over her face but she didn't boast out loud and instead stood there gloating and grinning to herself.

"It stings..." Said Euterpe to Luxia as she held up her raw acid burned paw. Every now in then though she'd glare at Althea who seemed to be muttering praises to herself, and perhaps even singing?

Luxia gently took Euterpe's paw and held it still while she inspected the injury. 'Mmmm, acid does tend to be messy... hold on just a moment...' Under her watchful gaze, the acid burns in Euterpe's paw began to slowly heal. The pain dulled, although it didn't disappear completely.

While she healed Euterpe, Luxia replied to Dianne. 'Why, yes, I created the lovely portal that brought us here. We came to rescue you, Diagonal. And everyone else who's trapped here. All at Stetson's insistence.'

(Luxia's nicknames for everyone are killing me)

Dianne: "I'm sorry, what did you call me-"

Stellarus: "So, Dianne, did you find anyone else?"

{Sighing, she decides to folow Stellarus' change in subject and not pursue Luxia's naming conventions.}

Dianne: "Yes, everyone else who went missing is in the village in the mountains. we need to get them before we leave."

"Thanks..." Said Euterpe's as she clenched her wrist. She then turned her attention towards Dianne. "So Shepherd is ok?" She asked.

'Ah, the mountain village?' said Luxia cheerily. 'Yes, I've visited them before. Lovely bunch of folks - well, except for half of them being murderers, hitmen, and organ traffickers before they were exiled...'

She spiralled off into a ramble, her voice gradually becoming more muffled until nobody could understand her.

Stellarus: "...I'm sorry, organ /what/?"

{Dianne addresses Euterpe first.}

Dianne: "Yes, Euterpe, he's quite alright. We're going to go get him and get out of here."

{She then raises the lizard the draugrs had killed, then looks at her host.}

Dianne: "Between me and the wyverns, I think we have enough wings between us to fly there. Luxia, Euterpe, Stellarus, you three can ride on my back, while the rest hitch a ride on the...void wyverns..."

Luxia was still rambling something about illegal kidneys and black markets selling dragon blood. When Dianne finished speaking, she snapped out of it. 'Ride on your back? Oh, you're a dragon. Yes, Diagonal, that sounds perfect. Let's reunite with the others quickly. I'm eager to meet them.'

(I forget, did Shep mention she can't fly? He might've x'D

Althea was too busy gloating to herself to notice their plans. It took Euterpe to nudge her up towards one of the dragons.

Though the dragoness did not climb on and instead watched the group warily as they all began to mount.

Dianne: "Come on, Euterpe, Shepherd's not coming to us."

(I'm going back on my DS, so I might not be able to continue much longer. This room will probably lag my DS.)

{With everyone aboard, Dianne takes flight, followed by her minions. She heads straight for the mountains.}

Luxia sat quite comfortably on Dianne's back, not at all concerned with being so high off the ground. 'Isn't this fun, Loopy?' she cackled. 'Don't you wish you could fly like a bird, too?'

Back in the village, the blue-haired man swiftly turned and headed back towards the cluster of huts. //Whoever those people are, they're strong... Clearly not exiles, stripped of their magic. They beat off over two dozen voidspawn on their own. Are they friends of the people who showed up earlier? Here to rescue them? Then they must have the ability to open portals...//
