I Decided to drawing in this week challenge #wc380 'August' and what the first thing that pop into my mind for this time of year.

When I think of August, I think of the mountains and just how beautiful it is up there but one of the coolest things to see is the deer at this time of year.
For the West side of the USA this time of year the deer go though some changes, their Pelts are a Gorgeous reddish Brown that because its their summer coat and just in a few weeks after August the deer pelts will turn to a grey to what called a blue grey pelt for the winter.

However that not the only thing, August is the last month that Bucks will still have Velvet on their antlers.

You see the difference between horns and antlers isn't just the shape, it what there made of and how they grow. Horns continue to grow throughout an animal's life as Antlers are shed and regrown yearly

When the Antlers are growing they have what called 'Velvet' on them, it fuzzy and all the tips of the antlers are Round and dull.
( like what I try to do in the picture)

Towards the last weeks of August and into the first of September the Bucks antlers will have grown and Harden enough that they then rubb off their Velvet on trees and bushes, rubbing also Sharpen their antlers given them those pointed tips, this is all in Preparation for the rut.

There honestly lot more I could rambled about just how amazing deer are but this is just a few of my favorite things about them for August
