I think I'm starting to get how shadows work and where to place them, not sure lmao. Barely learning how to draw fluffy sweaters and fabric folds :P

i find the best way to learn, is to think about where the light is coming from.
here, you put the light off screen, to the upper right. possibly closer towards you rather than farther away. heres a makeshift diagram:

0 is the balls, L is the light source.

sorta see what i mean?

then, you just need to know where the shadow is casting and angle.

if you want the balls to be floating infront of a wall for example, put the shadow to the left of the ball, down a little and then make it small. smaller the shadow the farther the object is away in general.
lol, sorry if this doesnt make sense. really, umderstanding where the light source is the most important.
