Feathermanes are a large and very territortal species that roam in groups of 5-7 that being 2 males and the rest female. They use the 'wings' on their head to intimidate others and on rare occasions to communicate with each other over long distances. The tail feathers of the male are used to attract mates bright colors and intact feathers are best so, when fighting for mates males will try to rip out each others tail feathers. As they age their feather grow dull and gray.
