Re: I’ll tell you about Tangent first. He’s the toaster boy with all the dark matter leaking from him. In Kirby lore, there are multiple references to a group, species, and/or society called the ancients. They are responsible for the creation of legendary artifacts like the star rod and Master crown, as well as powerful technologies such as the Lor Starcutter, which can travel through space and time and “Clockwork Stars” which are able to grant wishes. Tangent is a creation of the ancients, but one that was faulty. In an attempt to utilize Void (dark matter’s and maybe also Kirby's species' very, very old ancestor) for their benefit, Tangent was created. However, the mind of this new creature was fragmented, chaotic, and unstable. Void was deemed uncontrollable through these methods, so he was “deactivated” and stored away. Jumping to the present, an enormous amount of time has passed since the disappearance of the ancients, and some external force ( I haven’t decided what) revives the failed experiment.
Re: Kosa is a bit of a weirder case, cause he’s not built around Kirby lore, so he doesn’t really fit Kirby’s world in a normal context...which is why I took the fanfiction route and shoehorned in a bunch of my own stuff! Kosa is a light matter, a non-canon, mirror world equivalent of dark matter. He was originally a researcher, who looked into supernatural phenomena that occurred across the universe. A certain strange one kept recurring as time went on, the sudden disappearance of entire galaxies. Though he was heavily advised not to go to the sites of these disappearances, he was either stubborn, or someone he cared about was whisked away along with the galaxy. Regardless of why he went, what he encountered was...something otherworldly, an existence so intensely bright, his eyes exploded at the sight of it. His encounter with this being of light spawned a deeply rooted delusion. Kosa believes he is a crusader on a holy quest, to cleanse the world of all impure and sinful heretics. The being of light serving as the god he worships. Living out this delusion, he essentially commits genocide multiple times and justifies it with “My God Wills it So.” He speaks with a medieval dialect and is all around completely insane.
