Mason had reached another tunnel up ahead. This one was well-lit and had a nice high ceiling. In the wall of the tunnel stood a metal door. Mason shifted back to human form and called out to Den, letting his voice echo down the tunnel.
'This way. Just keep walking straight ahead until you see the lights.'
Euterpe immediately runs foreward to hold Luxia back so she wouldn't fall. "Who's that orange stick girl?" Euterpe's face sours, unimpressed.
"AH heY, YOU'RE THAT WITCH FROM THE POTION SHOP." Althea yells shocked. "Don'tyou dare! Lady this stick is probablyworth more than the majorityof your spell books!"
She then turns to adress Stella. "Lost? Well maybe, but I think most people finding themselves in this goforsaken wasteland would be lost yeah. Let me guess you guys got sucked in to?"
'Your stick is naught but a cheap piece of sandpaper!' Luxia declared, unaware (or uncaring) that nothing she was saying made any sense. She then glanced over her shoulder at Euterpe, surprised. 'Oh, Loopy? You stopped me from falling in? That's nice of you! I didn't think you cared about me,' she said, smiling toothily.
@Rad Den was about to light the way with fire but after hearing Mason's voice he began to race straight down to the direction of the call. Sure enough, the tunnel had begun to show light just as Mason described. "I'm Here!" Exclaimed Den. @Rad / @Xeno Euterpe snorted. Not wanting to admit her act to save Luxia was out of good intention she said. "Well, you are the only one who knows how to open the portals here."
Althea stood impatiently as she watched the commotion from across the ravine. She then shot a rather annoyed glance at Stellarus. "'We' huh? We'll you do look the most capable here to summon such a spell but I then I wouldn't know why you brought such a looney woman along. Unless that is in fact the potion shop lady." She turned to Luxia and tried to think of something less, offensive, she didn't want to anger Luxia and have her in fact turn her staff into a piece of sandpaper.
Mason nodded approvingly when Den raced up to him. The youngster had some bravery. 'Good work. Here's the entrance to my pack's hideout. There will probably be a few werewolves lurking in here right now, so don't be alarmed.'
He began to open the door to the hideout, keeping Den behind him.
Luxia just continued to beam happily at Euterpe, before Althea's words brought her attention back to reality.
'Oh, I was the one who opened the portal, Ginger,' she said merrily, giving Althea a yellow-toothed smile. 'And if you want to escape this nasty place, you'll join us, and stop being so rude.'
Stellarus: "Oh, I'm aware I look like the strongest one here, but interdimensional travel isn't my discipline. And yes, that's Luxia all right. So, Ginger, are you coming or not?"
@Rad As Mason led the way Den moved his head around curiously. He took notice of the werewolves but made sure to do nothing that would seemingly offend them.
@Rad / @Xeno "Alright! Alright!" Said Althea in a rather defensive yet standoffish tone. She rolled her eyes at the little nickname but didn't say anything to correct it. Not like she wanted to introduce her first name anyway. "I'm going to jump so this may look a little awkward" Althea tapped her staff and then sprinted towards the ravine. As the elf ran she digs her staff into the ground as to give her a bit of lift, though the jump she made was far longer than any normal person. Althea then lands in a rather erratic manner, rolling to the ground like as if all her limbs were broken or limp. It was so odd that Euterpe moved to make another one of her disgusted faces.
"Tada! Alright if you'd be so kind just point me towards the portal.."
The room beyond the door was large, rectangular, and lit up by a few LED lights. Threadbare furniture - chairs, tables and couches - were arranged haphazardly around the room. From the dark corners, metal and other things glittered weakly. Upon closer inspection, it was revealed that they were piles of money and treasure - gleaming golden Squalls lying atop mounds of strange artifacts, jewelry, and gemstones.
Werewolves were scattered around the room, some in beast form, others in human form. They weren't all adults either; some were young teenagers around Den's age.
'Welcome to the hideout,' said Mason dryly as he led the way inside. 'Try to steal anything, and I'll have your hide.'
'Who's that kid?' said one young werewolf, eyeing Den suspiciously. The other werewolves weren't looking too happy either.
@Rad Den flattened his ears at Mason's threat but was unsure of what to say. Furthermore, he didn't like that there were suddenly a ton of eyes on him. @Rad/ @Xeno
"But it ain't your portal hm? didn't you just say you aren't the one in control of these said 'portals'." Snickered Althea mischievously to Stellarus. She turns to Luxia "Ah, c'mon granny who said this oaf was in charge huh? Besides, I bet I could pay you better than whatever these to feather brains got."
Euterpe huffed unamused. "Let's dump her down the cliff she's a waste of space and words."
Stellarus: "I agree, Loopy. But, maybe she's less useless than she looks. And I doubt that, Ginger. If you could outbid me, I doubt you would be dressed like a pauper."
'I'm not accepting payment,' said Luxia serenely. 'I'm helping because it's the right thing to do. And you're lucky we're even trying to help you at all! If it weren't for your little dragon friend begging me to save you, we probably would have just left you here, playing with your mediocre magic.'
Mason huffed exasperatedly. 'Can everybody settle down? He's only a teenager, and he's not here to cause problems. I just didn't want to--'
Before he could finish, a young and especially hotheaded werewolf named Garth came stomping over. He was in beast form, a massive wolf-like monstrosity nearly six feet tall. Growling threateningly, he began to edge towards Den in a challenging manner. //This is OUR place,// he thought, angry at finding this unknown dragon in his territory. //Mason's got some nerve, bringing this pipsqueak here...//
"Ah good old Den." Althea smiled and winked. "Well if you know that much then I mustn't waste time here and return to him. Poor kid's probably worried sick."
She smiled again at both Stellarus and Euterpe. "Well if you're going to say that then turn around and base my wealth off my looks how can I be certain your words are as any true as mine. I know for certain I could pay well, it doesn't have to money either." She said finishing about as smoothly as a weasel about to claim its prize.
Euterpe mumbled, "Didn't base anything of your looks only on the time we've wasted here."
Stellarus: "It doesn't have to be money? And what does that mean? Perhaps Loopy is right. Let's keep going. Leave Ginger to her...unimpressive arcane displays."
Luxia gazed at Althea for a moment, then turned to Stellarus and spoke as if the girl wasn't even there. 'My, it certainly does talk a lot, doesn't it? ...I would like to leave her behind, but unfortunately, I promised the dragon child that I would bring her back safely,' she rambled. 'However, nor can we abandon our search for the others. Ginger /must/ come with us.'
