For their relationship, it is slow and gradual over time, since they didn’t want anything to do with each other when they first met. Chiing was very different at first when she is introduced in the story. She was selfish and snobby and only formed a contract with Suriel for her own self-gain and was originally going to sever all ties with him once she got what she wanted. But when progressing on their quest to seal the demon lord she gradually got less snobby and kinder. She was surprised at how persistent he was in making her stronger and the fact he didn’t simply sever the contract like many others did in the past and started to see Suriel in a new light. She did eventually feel strange towards him and found out this odd feeling was that she loved him. Thanks to Suriel She became a different person. She became selfless and brave, which is the opposite of her when she was cowardly and selfish.

Like Chiing Suriel wanted nothing to do with chiing and simply wanted to rid the world of the Demon lord. He was distant and only spoke when he had to. He did everything, she told him to do. Through time he started to find her interesting and even cute for her loud emotional ways and longing to be “OP” as she says. He admired her for being able to freely express herself and even a bit envious since he could not. She was one of the few, besides his mom who talked to him and treated him like a normal person. He learned to be more expressive and open thanks to her and grew to accept her as someone very dear to him.
