As a Froakie, Kishiko was rejected and abandoned by his trainer after being defeated in a battle, as his trainer saw him as a weak Pokemon. Professor Sycamore took him back to the lab, and from there Kishiko would train himself, and soon enough he would evolve. At one point he meets his trainer again, this time her partner is a Scizor. They get into a battle, and a point-blank hyper beam puts Kishiko in critical condition back at the lab.

When he recovered, Kishiko declared that his old trainer would be dead to him. Shortly after, he would meet a Sobble, and would become his teacher and train him.
