@Februaryfaye and @Lilacthefloof: This IS true, and I'd say it's mostly for original stories. ( #BlacKHalO isn't a fanfic, but I'd still becareful!)

Last Year; I story and did the most realistic (yet older) self-insert as possible. During one chapter: -Ciar takes a girl to a fair; and she makes fun of him for not being able to play one of the games correctly. He explains he has a wrist thing going on with a laugh.....- A month or two later: I develop Carpal Tunnel!

Seriously: before I wrote that story, I had no idea what Carpal Tunnel was.. and thought wrist problems just happen when you get older. Now, like my OC, my wrists hurt, things I used to do effortlessly, now causes me horrible pain.

I made the insert nearly perfect: spent time on making it realistic rather than simply making myself the protagonist/hero... and I suffered one of his ailments the SAME YEAR!

Long-story-Short: don't do it! Yeah, insert SOME of yourself in what you write, it's natural. But do NOT do a one-to-one realistic self-insert and you sustain any and/or have any REALISTIC injuries and/or ailments.

@xNerax a self-insert is when you make a character exactly like you (or straight up put yourself) in a story. Normally make themselves perfect in the story's world, but in this case............

I put all my traits: good & bad into Black Halo.. and suffered a extra trauma (I added to myself) I NEVER thought I'd get.
Now we match physically... I hope the good stuff happens too...

@Dubitheartist Yeah, it's really creepy! I didn't even notice until a month afterwards... The BIGGEST differences between me and him is: he has his own cruddy place and is 3 years older. Now... when I reach 30; I'll have Carpal Tunnel like he does...

@xNerax Also don't feel shamed, I.m born in America and STILL don't know a bunch of English words, lol!! Whoever's coming up with... word stuff(?) don't take into account that not everybody would catch on to the crazy junk they come up with!
