Kakatua Raja by Acchan

#EndangeredSpecies
Palm cockatoos (Probosciger aterrimus) is derived from the Greek words "proboscis" which means nose and "gero" which means to carry. The specific name is from the Latin "aterrimus," meaning very black.

They are the largest of all parrots, found in rainforests Australasian region.

They considered near threathened due to the destruction of habitat and they have been the object of hunting for the aviary trade. (source: animaldiversity.org)
