Mane Length by SilverSpirits
One thing I always meant to do, but kept putting off (for probably almost 3years), was the Zeharu's manes.
I always do the bottom middle one for references/new Zeharu. Ever since I created Lance (On the right), I meant to do this post. But never drew Lance's true form, so I never bothered.
But here are some manes, the most common is the bottom one.
On the right is Riko, who has a sort of military style mane cut. It reflects his human form too, his human form he keeps his hair short, to stop anyone pulling/tearing his hair in a fight
Short mane = Hard to grab, easier to slip away from an enemy if they can't get ahold of you. The Zeharu who are the best fighters, know clinging to someone's mane, at the right position, is a great advantage in battle (since Zeharu are so long and have blindspots)

Lance has long hair in both forms, priding himself on the length and silkiness of his mane.
Funny enough though, Lance hates his true form, his Zeharu form. He finds himself hideous in it and rarely ever uses it. He also tends to just hate his own species in general.

Anywho, that's all for now! A Zeharu can style their manes and can be shorter than Riko's, longer than Lance's and anything in between.

All I got from that was Zeharus can style their mane!!!!! Time to go draw Aamelia with her mane in a huge braid xD but seriously, this is really cool! They're kinda like girls when they fight, pulling each other's hair lol which is such a unique feature for a species! Great work :)

To add on:
She can braid her mane, but if she wants to shift back to her human form, she would have to unbraid her mane. Which is why most don't bother with mane styles. Unless they're ones who dislike/never use their human form.
Exactly with the girly fighting, female Zeharu tend to do that in a fight, since males are physically superior, they use cheap tactics to try to win (the girls usually, some weak males will too)
It's why Riko cut his hair so short, he was tired of girls and what he calls "their cheap tactics"
Males tend to rely most on biting hard and their claws

This is some really cool lore! I'm still curious about what kinds of mane styles some Zeharu might have, especially considering how manes differ between some variants...

Re: haha yeah wouldn't want to get all tangled up in the braid when shifting. And hey, sometimes cheap girl tactics work ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ haha I find it funny that the lesser males use those tactics as well
