Re: Instagram is only good if you just wanna socialize with your friends or be where everyone's at (A lot of people from Colors! have migrated there), but as for showcasing art, it's shit, even though currently it's my favorite thing to use.

DeviantArt has also gotten worse lately. It's changing its layout soon and it's glitchy and difficult to navigate through. Tons of artists have already left and migrated to different sites.

Your best bet is ArtStation or Newgrounds. I don't have either, but I hear they're really good websites for art. Though ArtStation is mainly just for business/career purposes, and Newgrounds is centered around animations but they have a huge art community too. Only downside is I think there are a some elitists on that site.

Re: If porn is the worst thing you see in Newgrounds, then it really is the best choice out of all of them lol. I hope if you end up getting an account there you'll find ways to avoid it.

Idk. I think it's best to compare all the pros and cons of your options and choose which website... sucks the least.

discord is a messaging app designed for gamers, you can send private messges (called direct messages or DMs for short) to people (so it's just you and them talking), make group chats (you can make a group DM, my best friend made one for her, me and 3 others) or servers which people can join.

servers can be open (from what i gather, anyone can come in if they find it via search) or invite only, where someone needs an invite to even see the server. im in like 5 servers (all are by friends and current or former colors users) and all are private.

servers are basically group chats, and they can have channels which are like different ... rooms?

usually people make several channels for a server. one for general non specific chat (anything and everything), one for sharing art in, one for *insert thing like "talk here when playing _ game"*, so on.

you can make people admins in your server/grant them power to do stuff like make channels--

--/write descriptions for channels, give people roles, and more i forgot cause i dont run any servers at the moment and dont plan on starting any lol.

i forgot what all roles are for too, i think theyre how you give someone a colored username and nickname that shows up when theyre clicked in the server (in every server i have a role in im green and usually have some bug related nickname that shows up. "bug queen" "WASP MOTHER" pff.)

from what ive seen so far, discord is nice and im really enjoying it. im glad to be able to talk privately without what i say being just out on the net.

also i havent heard anything about discord folks being p.edo sympathizers, but when i did some glancing i saw that white supremacists were using discord to organize junk and discord had started cracking down on them. that and other junk like servers being made by thieves and them sharing personal info on them or something like that... that kinda thing probably goes on on anything with messaging capabilities though... people suck.

on discord you shouldnt have any trouble with anything if you hang out in private/invite only servers with people you know (or chill people that your friends know) :)

back on the p.edo thing, i wonder if maybe you got discord mixed up with neoGAF, a few years ago there was a big clusterf**k involving it cause from what i recall its main admin or owner or somebody /was a p.edo/ and there was fallout from that info getting out. i never went on there, i just saw it mentioned a lot on gameFAQS (apparently the two forums hated eachother or were rivals,..?) and--

and hmmm... i dont know exactly what it is (i assume it's an app kinda akin to instagram?) but ive seen some people mention that theyre on amino, i havent seen it mentioned lately though. maybe look it up and see what it is? it might be a place to post stuff.
