wait, no! Three?

I ask this of people a lot and the answer I get from them is one. But, I usually hold up three fingers for the three frogs then, two fingers for the two frogs who took a notion to jump off the log and, eventually take all of the fingers away out of sight. When speaking with people they usually don't think the word 'notion' is a synonym for the word 'thought.' And, that's what gets them every time when I originally pose this riddle to them. They're counting what they visually see before them and NOT paying enough attention to what's being said. Try it with family and friends. You'll see what I mean. You will be amazed by how many people will answer with you original response. :)
