so basically, the start of the dream was some type of trailer for a new game out on the switch, seemed like it was part of a nintendo direct
the game itself basically seemed like a mix of the mario n luigi games, as well as miitopia
you could control your mii and roam around the map, and you could even set up your own base (sorta like swsh? except a small house, you can move it around wherever you go n decorate the inside)
if you had certain games on your console you could unlock certain party members or just get rare items or gear
anyway, party members were usually just,, other players
you could frequently encounter the bases of other players and invite them to be a part of your team, and every player had whatever class they'd picked at the start of the game
now,,,,, what's essentially a miiverse revival came in the fact that, this mii game? was free
and it had a messaging board of sorts where you could team up with other players for multiplayer matches against monsters/bosses

the messaging board had a few different sections to it, the previously mentioned section related to bosses n matchfinding was all you had unlocked at the start but when you get a certain item early on (some sorta scroll thing) you can set up party group chats to communicate with party members
as well as the group chat, you were also given essentially dms, if you team up with randos they appear in an aquaintance list and you can jus dm them, say hi, maybe add them to your friend list if ya wanna
all these chats had filters of course, but otherwise it was essentially just freely typing whatever you want and if a phrase or word was deemed bad it acts like colors n turns into asterisks/refuses to send until you remove the asterisks

now, as this was a /trailer/, i was super duper excited!!
,,,,, until i ""woke up""
i was still dreaming, but i thought i'd just woken up and yknow was just properly awake
and me being the wimp i am, i ended up crying to my mom about it in the dream because DAMMIT, IT MADE ME MISS MIIVERSE SO MUCH AND IT MAKES ME MISS IT RIGHT NOW
my mom jus sorta reassurred me and then wondered if maybe a game like this miiverse-topia-thing existed
eventually i stopped being a baby and just decided to get my switch n chill downstairs in my mom's room
that's when i saw,,,,, a download offer to get the new miiverse-topia-thing game pop up on the home menu
and my excitement skyrocketed, i downloaded it while having breakfast and was just sO HAPPY
gjdgdjshd im tearing up right now da.mn
but yea, after the game downloaded i instantly booted it up and went to show my mom since she was still in her room, and me and her were both equally shocked that it wasnt just a dream

i went through the tutorial n the first area or so of the game, teaming up with low level randoms in multiplayer n jus taking on a boss fight which gave me the scroll for friendship stuff
and then i got a l a r g e notification that basically listed all of my switch friendlist, stating "You became friends with (friend) and company!", showing all their portraits
and after that, just
i was so happy it wasn't a dream
but then had a question of ".. what if this is a dream"
my mom reassurred me "no, it isn't"

and then i woke up :'//
why did my dream have to kick me in the nonexistent nuts like that

but honestly tho if this sorta miiverse-miitopia game happened, even if it cost money i would still be absolutely overjoyed
it's probably never gonna happen tho, but,,,,,, if only,,
