About an hour after The Plague had first walked into the bar, the storm of rock and metal music finally ground to a halt. Stal, looking exhausted but glad to be done, spoke into his microphone one more time. 'Thanks for listening, everyone. It's been a good evening. This was The Plague.'

He stepped down from the stage with an air of finality, not really looking to see if any of the bar patrons had enjoyed his performance. He didn't expect them to be that enthusiastic. //They're probably used to hearing way better.//

'Can we stay here a bit longer and get drinks?' piped up Loch from the back of the group.

'Yeah, sure, if you like.'

{As the Plague left the stage, Stella walked up past them, heading to the stage. She was very intently staring at her clipboard.}

Stella: "Hey, good job up there...."

{She absentmindedly pats Stal on the side. Walking up on the stage, she announces the next group.}

Stella: "Ok, up next, put your hands together for Hail of Blades."

Stal glanced over his shoulder to squint at Stella, his eyes dimming for a moment. He couldn't decide whether to be happy that she'd said 'good job', or disappointed that she didn't have anything more to say about his performance. //I was expecting everyone to think we were bad, not just boring...///

Gray, noticing that Stal was starting to brood, quickly got his attention. 'The others will be OK here on their own. Let's go for a walk.'

'Yeah... OK.'

Face showing no emotion, Stal accompanied Gray out onto the moonlit street, pushing through all the crowds.

Unaware that two of the band had just left, Loch, Pyre and Arc were beginning to curiously explore the rest of the bar. 'I wonder if that weird dragon girl is still here - Ooterpe, or whatever her name was?' asked Loch.

'I don't know,' said Pyre. 'I didn't really notice her watching us. Maybe she went home?'

'From what I know, she doesn't have a home,' Arc said. 'I think she and her friend are new here. They don't really seem to know anything about the city.'

Euterpe approaches Shepherd as the music dies down.
"Are you doneeeeeeee nowwwwwwwww?" She asked dropping her head on the table he was about to clean.

"No and I won't be if you keep you big head there."

"Look if you're boar why don't you go keep Marco company? He always has a way of engaging others."

Euterpe snorted at his comment but lifted her head away from the table. "Whatever." She finally said before walking off towards the bar. She eyes the drinks of the counter suspiciously.
"Hm what's this muddy water for?" She muttered to herself outloud.

(Also ahhhhhh glad you like it! I kinda wish I did a better job on the coloring but I mostly wanted to do a simpler drawing, full on pieces can take forever ahhhhhh.

Loch led the party up to the bar area, intending to drink in celebration of their gig. //Well... maybe 'celebrate' is a strong word,// she thought ruefully, remembering how little attention they'd gotten compared to some of the other places they'd performed.

Just then, Arc tapped her on the shoulder. 'Hey, Loch, isn't that Euterpe?' he said, pointing at a dragon who seemed to be muttering over someone's drinks. 'I think it is!' With a pleased smile, he approached her. 'Euterpe! You're still here, then?'

"Get you smelly breathe away from that!" Growled the bartender. "That ain't your drink."

Euterpe's nostrils flared. "Well I wouldn't want to drink a glass of mud anyway, who does that?"
She was about to go on about different types of mud and how they all taste different yet aweful anyway, but as soon as Arc greeted her, her attention shifted elsewhere.
"Oh yeah, Shepherd got a job here or something. BUT HE HASN'T STOPPED." She yelled throwing her head towards the ceiling.

(I'd be down for that.)

{Dianne approaches Euterpe and the group.}

Dianne: "Oh, that's not muddy water, sweetie. Those are Akhetian Ales. I wouldn't recommend you drink those. Also, good job on the performance today, fellas. You sounded great."

Loch tried to stifle a laugh at Euterpe's response, while Arc just looked bewildered. 'Well, I guess he has to earn money somehow,' he said curiously. 'Have you really just been hanging out here all day? Maybe you should go and explore the city. Take in the sights.'

Pyre, the only one who seemed to have noticed Dianne's existence, turned to her with a startled expression. 'You really think so? Stella, uh, didn't seem very impressed... though I guess she's like that with everybody,' he added, rubbing the back of his head.

Euterpe scrunched up her face thinking for a moment at what Dianne said. "Well how will I know it's not mud without tasting it? But then again, If it is mud, and I do I will have experiences less than desirable. But how will we ever know?"
Euterpe shook her head. "AH! No that would not be good." She ofcourse was referring to the alcohol on the counter.

When Arc mentioned seeing the city her face dropped. "THAT, would also not be good. Last time they captured Shepherd. We're trying to leave, not take a vacation."

{Dianne swats the air in a dismissive manner.}

Dianne: "Oh, don't mind her. She doesn't think anyone in Caelum is good. Not even her own bandmates."

{Dianne then turns back to Euterpe.}

Dianne: "Euterpe, I think I'd know if my own drinks were mud. This is my bar, after all."

Arc cocked his head in surprise, trying to figure out what Euterpe meant. 'Captured Shepherd? He's your friend, right? What do you mean, they captured him?' A hint of confused understanding came into his expression. 'Wait, do you mean the hospital people? They were just trying to help. He got hit by a /car./ They wanted to make sure he was alright.'

Pyre looked intrigued. 'Wait, /Stella/ is in a band? I wouldn't have guessed.'

Loch's mind, meanwhile, had gone off down a different track altogether. 'That Akhetian Ale... what's it like?' she said to no-one in particular. 'I've heard it's really good, but I've never tried any.'

Euterpe held her expression in disbelief. "I don't like it, it must of been some sort of ploy. What's more is we've been- aUgh!" She cut herself off early.
"No I shouldn't say that. Hmmmm" she leaned in over to wear Loch was. "You have to tell me if it tastes like mud."

Dianne: "/Was/ in a band. She was the lead singer and guitarist in the band Cambrian Cataclysm. They were really popular here, but they broke up."

Arc just blinked and nodded politely at Euterpe as though she were speaking a different language.

Loch grinned. 'Yeah, I think I'm gonna get some,' she mused. Leaning on the bar, she addressed the bartender. 'Hey! Can I get, uh... two Akhetian ales, please?' she said, glancing at Pyre and deciding that she would get him one too.

'Oh, those guys? I've heard of them. I'm not /incredibly/ familiar with them, though,' said Pyre. He eyed Loch for a moment, then turned back to Dianne. 'Why did they break up?' he asked, dropping his voice as if he thought Stella might be listening.

Dianne: "Well, apparently, she had a falling with the other members. She wanted to keep playing, but her backup guitarist, and the rest of them thought it didn't pay well enough and said they wanted to leave. Yeah, a few choice things were said, and they didn't part ways on good terms."

'Oh dear,' said Pyre. He thought of his own band; it was impossible to imagine such a falling-out between them, despite Stal's grumpiness and pessimism, and the band's issues with getting enough money. 'Well, I guess stuff like that just happens sometimes. I wonder if that's the reason why she seems to hate everyone else's bands? Like, maybe she's just bitter about her own band breaking up?'

Dianne: "That seems like a reasonable conclusion, if not for the fact that she was always hypercritical about other bands. Her band breaking up certaintly wasn't the start of it."

'Oh...' Pyre considered for a moment. 'What about you? Do you do any, y'know, music stuff? It seems like a lot of people around here do.'

Dianne: "Eh, I can play guitar halfway decently. But, playing music just doesn't appeal to me. And yeah, a lot of people here do. This is kind of a city of music."

'Yeah, a lot of people here are musicians. In this district especially.' Pyre was watching the rest of the band as they talked to Euterpe and ordered drinks, only now realising that Stal and Gray weren't there. 'For some of them, it's just a hobby, but loads of people try to make a career out of it. I used to just play for fun until I ended up in this band. I kinda preferred that, honestly.'

'Stal does tend to... yell at people a lot,' said Pyre ruefully. 'He doesn't mean anything bad by it, though. I think he just gets stressed. He /really/ wants people to like his songs.'

'Oh, we do other things besides music,' said Arc cheerfully. 'Well... Stal and Gray don't really do anything besides music. But I do a lot of volunteer work and Loch works part-time at a cafe. And we all have other hobbies. We don't just make loud noise /all/ the time.'

'Maybe I'll suggest that to him,' said Pyre. 'I don't think he'll pay any attention, though.' He glanced up at the bar where the rest of the band were. 'Hey Loch, what are you doing up there?'

'Getting drinks, what's it look like?' she yelled back. 'I'm getting some of that Akhetian stuff, I've never tried any before.'

Pyre looked like he wasn't sure whether to be amused or concerned. 'Isn't Akhetian Ale supposed to be really potent or something?' he asked, glancing back at Dianne.

Dianne: "Highly."

{Dianne states with an air of caution.}

Dianne: "You should be careful with that stuff. Most people feel something in the first shot, and few can make it past seven."

{The barkeep pours the shots for Loch.}

'Thanks man,' said Loch casually, turning around and handing one of the glasses to Pyre. 'So, this stuff is /really/ strong, then?' she added, having been listening to the conversation. 'Eh, I can probably handle it.'

'I wouldn't be so sure,' said Pyre cautiously.

They drank down their shots almost at the same time. Loch immediately started coughing and spluttering, while Pyre just glanced at the empty glass, blinking a little.

'Huh, I guess that /is/ pretty strong,' he said in mild surprise while Loch choked in the background.

As Pyre and Loch choked on their drinks Euterpe put on a 'I knew it' kind of face. "Muddy water." She said softly and glared at the glasses as if they were bewitched.

Arc made a humming noise as he thought about it. 'Well, I /guess/ I'm a dragon. I do consider myself one. But yes, some dragons don't have wings. Oh, and Stal has wings but he still can't fly; I'm not sure why he has them.'

'It's not mud, it's great!' said Loch enthusiastically as she wheezed for breath. 'I just wasn't expecting it to be so strong.'

Pyre, who seemed a lot less affected by the ale than Loch had been, just smiled. 'Well, Dianne did mention it was very potent. You should have expected it.'

(Safe. Also btw should I wait for Xeno? I'm not sure if we're taking turns or not X'D)

Euterpe's jumped a little at Loch's sudden enthusiasm. "What's in that stuff." She snorted and began to move a little away from Loch.
"Lucky, wings are so heavy and clunky. And mine are so big."

'It's fiiiine,' said Loch, grinning at Euterpe. 'You should try some. You're a dragon, I bet it wouldn't affect you as much. Oh wait, I'm a dragon too, nevermind then.'

Arc, who was good at ignoring Loch's antics, just kept focusing on Euterpe. 'Well, surely having bigger wings is a good thing. You must be pretty good at flying.'

"Stay back! I don't want to catch whatever vile spirit lays with in such a concoction!" Euterpe hissed and ran behind Arc.

Her ears flattened and she returnedArc's commentwith a hint of Sarcasm. "Oh yeah, I'd be real good haha."

{Dianne just quietly chuckles at the scene playing out before her.}

Dianne: "There are no spirits in the ales, Euterpe. It's just enchanted alchohol."

Arc smiled slightly as Euterpe leapt behind him. 'I guess you haven't had any experiences with alcohol before...'

Loch snorted and asked the bartender for another pair of shots, throwing a glance at Euterpe as she did so. 'Maybe if you actually /tried/ alcohol, then you'd stop thinking it's so terrible. It's just a drink.' She then squinted at Euterpe uncertainly. 'Wait, hold on, how old are you?'

Pyre watched his bandmates' antics with a faint smile, seeming content to sit back quietly and not join in.

(Loch asks a good question I honestly don't know myself, she was originally meant to be 16 when I first created her, but if I remember correctly I've aged her? So I think she's an adult?
She sat in the woods for a very long time ok. Lol

When Loch shot her a look she whispered to Arc. "I think you might need to exercise your band partner."
"I don't keep track of age, it's not relevant to me. Why do you ask?"

Arc smiled, though it was slightly strained. 'Don't worry, she does this often. It's quite normal. Uhm, Loch, I don't think you should drink any more.'

Loch squinted at Euterpe, trying to focus on her. 'Weeeell,' she said, ignoring Arc, 'I was just wondering, cuz in this city, you're not supposed to drink alcohol if you're under 18. So... since I don't know how old you are... I should probably stop trying to convince you to try the drinks,' she concluded.

"Is that so? I didn't think such a drink requires a proper age." She sat there and thought a moment in silence. "How old am? Certainly I am not a child, how long did I wait there? Two-no, three years? Decades??? No wait." She placed her paw on her head. "So, so long..." She said quietly before starting to pace in a circle.

Drinking age here is 21 rip, probably good, too many rowdy college students doing the bad things. They also recently changed the smoking age too. :0 )

Dianne: "Yeah, you need to be older than 21 years of age to drink alcoholic beverages. Besides, this stuff is very strong. You really shouldn't drink it."

Loch returned from the bar with a second shot glass for herself, as well as one for Pyre. As she drank it down (more slowly this time), she said with a mischievous grin: 'So if she's an adult, I /can/ convince her to drink? I'm curious to see how alcohol affects her species.'

Pyre drank his second shot - strangely, not seeming too affected by it. At least, not as much as Loch. 'I'm not sure that's a good idea...'

(I wonder are dragons just bad at holding a drink or does Loch just have a low tolerance? X'D )

( @Alk - Dragons (and non-humans in general) /usually/ have a good alcohol tolerance; Loch just doesn't. XD
Plus, she's drinking something much stronger than what she normally drinks so she's not used to it, pfff.)

Loch shrugged in response to what Euterpe said. 'Well, I don't know if it would affect us both the same way... you might have a better tolerance than me. Besides... drinking alcohol is fun, you might enjoy it.' She finished her second shot and put the glass down, swaying slightly.

Akhetians, as a species, are extradimensional beings with the ability to manipulate matter and energy. For more info on them, please see these tags. #Akhetians #Akhetianinfo

So, there was this Akhetian named Triticum. Unlike his other contemporaries, he took great interest in the lives of mortals, especially their more festive activities. He noticed that many non-human species were relatively unaffected by the liquors of mere mortals, and often had to consume large amounts of liquor just to feel anything. However, for some species, this could be dangerous, or just plain unpleasant. So, Triticum set out to create the ultimate party brew, capable of being enjoyed by all species. And thus, he created the Akhetian Ale. It is, at its core, an extremely strong enchanted liquor. The enchantments allow for uniform alchohol absorption across all species. This allows non human species, who are resillient to the effects of alchoholic beverages, to enjoy them in reasonable portions. However, like all liquors, it's a very bad idea, and often a dangerous prospect, to chug this stuff. For this reason, it is only ever offered in extremely small portions.

( @Alk Well, this is where the different variants come into play. XD Dragon's Fire, I would imagine, would be the most similar to hard liquor, such as whiskey, I.e, lots of burning on the way down. XD Farmside would probably be less burning, and it would have an actual sweet flavoring, such as a fruit, or honey. However, regardless of how strong it tastes, all variants will have comparatively immediate effect. Some species might feel it less than others, but average people will start to feel the buzz after a single shot. Does that help?)

As the bartender set the glass down in front of the dragons Euterpe began examining the drink further. She grabbed the glass with her paws and said. "Hah! Now you can't tell me to move away from it!" She said smiling to the bartender.

Euterpe seemed more into observing the drink then actually consuming it. There she moved a bit away from the group and set the glass down. Before drinking it she watched as others chugged down their shots similarly to how Loch had done it. "Is that how we're suppose to drink this." She said musing to herself and gave the group a look before dramatically finishing the drink.

Sure enough the strong enchanted alcohol was more than enough to make to cause Euterpe to sputter and cough like a sick bird. The bitter taste was followed by an intense burn. It was almost like there was a flame flowing down her throat and afterwards a strange yet somehow familiar feeling set in.
Euterpe's eyes watered a bit and she began to hiccup. "Thaatttt was noot mud.." She said now immediate feeling the effects of the ales. She almost felt a little giddy and lighthearted, which was weird.
"More like? Like like, ahhh."

(I think this is the first character I've officially gotten drunk in an rp. X'D )

{Dianne just gives Euterpe a very concerned look.}

Dianne: "Euterpe? Are you ok? How do you feel?"

"Maybeeeee." Euterpe said cracking a smile. "I feel very happy all of the sudden, maybe I'll go outside!" She said while wobbling a bit. "Whoah! The floors and walls are moving. How are you guys standing still?"

{Dianne sighs and turns to Loch.}

Dianne: "Now do you see what you've done?"

{Dianne looks back to the very wobbly Owldragon.}

Dianne: "That's just the alchohol, sweetie, the floor and walls aren't moving. No, don't go outside. You're staying here until you sober up."

(My phone is low and power's out, the saddest thing is I can't do any hw since it's all online and I need my computer hnnnnn rip )

(I don't know honestly, sometimes they're pretty good, so I'm hoping tomorrow.
Though there were times where we've been without power for a week. :'D

That was yearsssss ago though.
I'm considering postponing my exam this week so I have more time to study/focus on other subjects.
Also so I don'thave to deal with the hassle of insecure connections

Loch snickered, putting a hand on the bar to steady herself. 'It's fine Dianne, look at her, she's happier than I've ever seen her! Maybe this'll actually do her some good!' She smirked mischievously, while Arc just looked vaguely disappointed.

'Yes, but you don't want her to become an alcoholic, do you?' he murmured.

'She's fine!' Loch pointed at Euterpe as they both swayed unsteadily. 'It was only one shot... wow, her tolerance must be even worse than mine.'

Pyre turned to Dianne. 'Er, sorry about this.'

(Also guys, I was thinking of posting another room so we can continue this, but I don't know. Should I do that, or just wait until Saturday?)
