Ahhh this is kinda late but thank you guys for nominating my species this month! My species is called Speculumfere which is a twist on glass cheeks in Latin, the unique trait of my species! It’s a dragon type that has physical abilities and attributes that correlate with their element or environment. You can normally tell what they’re element is by just looking at they clear space in their cheeks which can vary from plants, fire, water, minerals, or other aspects of nature that involve these types of variations. This month will most likely consist of expanding on the info on this species and there will probably be another egg adopt if y’all are up for it!
Painting on my phone is difficult free handed so a lot of my drawings will probably be traced from my sketchbook. New info will be released in the comments, gimmie a sec!

The Colors! Gallery moderators will look at it as soon as possible.

So an aspect of these guys is their feral instinct! This is a side of the species that is only released when they feel cornered or when they’re on the brink of starving and have no other choice but to feed on the first thing they find. This instinct can be voluntarily or involuntarily activated but it takes time for them to control this and control doesn’t come until they’ve reached a certain adolescence if they train themselves. You can tell the feral mode has been activated when the pupil has rolled away and only the color of their eye is visible. They appear to have no self control and act very animal like, all knowledge they’ve obtained beforehand has seemed to disappear until they’ve returned to a level headed state of mind or until they’re hunger has sufficed. They’re abilities also fluctuate in this instinct and they become much stronger and agile which only gives them the more reason to control this ability. Some speculum however are born with a feral instinct appearance i.e: #VeraSL (owned by @-Vivie-) with they’re eyes appearing to be rolled back permanently. This abnormality is a mutation of their environment where sometimes their vision clouds and their pupils disappear due to an overly dark or overly bright environment, this trait is rarely passed down to offspring. I’ll create a posts specifically dedicated to things like this throughout the month, hopefully most of this stuff makes sense by the time I’m done.
