#wc364 #magpie
Magpies were widely believed to be omens of bad luck, additionally, the amount of magpies seen determined one's fortune as told in this old nursery rhyme.
One for Sorrow
Two for Joy
Three for a girl
Four for a boy
Five for silver
Six for gold
Seven for a secret never told
Eight for a wish
Nine for a kiss
Ten for a bird you must not miss.

"Saluting magpies is an old English tradition and is said to ward off bad luck. ... The Scots used to believe that magpies had a drop of the Devil's blood under their tongues, and if one was seen near a window death could not be far behind."

(On another related note, this piece also probably goes #FaithAL tag, because I said so. :Y )

Shifter Dragons, if breeding with different species, typically only do it with other /dragon/ species. For example, Shifter Dragon x Crowdragon (Crowley's species). They could have offspring together that would either be one of the parents' species or a weird hybrid.
They would not be able to breed with humans without magical intervention. There are too many biological differences and SDs of both sexes need to be in dragon form to conceive, so it's impossible. A 10ft dragon and a normal human, that's gonna be bad. XD
But humanoid species /have/ been known to reproduce with SDs by using magic spells to combine the dragon's genes with the other parent's without conceiving the traditional way. It's very rare though, not many people know that kind of magic.
Aaaand I've now vomited lore into your comment section, I'm sorry.

I also realised I messed up something in the Reproduction section while writing all of that - Pureborn werewolves /don't/ need to be shifted in order to conceive, so ignore that comparison.
RIP

Reply: I keep all of my species/world lore in my head because I hate writing it down; only a few random pieces actually get posted here. XD
Luckily I'm pretty good at remembering info so I rarely need to write anything down, but I do like giving people a little taste of it (plus it's useful for when I'm doing RPs and people need to know more about my species in them).

re- yes!!! me, my sis, and my mom were obsessed with faeries haha.
Don't worry, they don't really ask me to draw anything that much. Me and my sis usually AT while my bros and i come up w/
scenarios or games :P It's mostly people that say "can you draw me" that i gotta put my foot down :/

Man, so many good stories and art came out of this weekly challenge... I had no idea of these birds having this story!! If I could have picked more winners I would have included you! Thank you for joining and for the great folklore!

Reply: Aaaah thanks! I had fun working out a bit of the money system, and hopefully it helps everyone who RPs with me.
There's not much meaning behind the coin designs. I wanted some of them to have angular edges rather than being circular, because I was sorta basing them on British coins, some of which have edges like that. Also British coins, especially the pounds, often have pictures on one side - stuff like crowns and lions and dragon heads. X) So I wanted to do something similar to that.
(I have basically no idea what any other country's coins look like. XD)

Reply: Yeah, I'm not a fan of really big dragons, especially since many of my fantasy worlds are in a modern setting. They're cool in some situations, but I personally avoid them. XD
I searched up what goldbacks look like, they're quite pretty! Nice designs.
I have a 1-pence coin from 1936 that I found somewhere, it's so old that it has a completely different design to our modern coins and doesn't even have our current Queen's head printed on the back. I have no idea where I got it, but it's an interesting collector's thing. X)

Reply: Oh yeah, I've got a few foreign coins (can't remember which, I'd have to check) that somehow got mixed up in my change at some point. I keep them in a tiny 'special coins' collection with my 1936 penny. XD
