1.) She has had a few nicknames over time, many were just little ones her parents called her from time to time, but a few stuck around for a while as she grew up. A couple of them were Biscuit (that was one when she was younger), Cryssy, Crysta, and finally, her friend Charlie would jokingly call her by her last name, of which is Sheppard. (I guess that’s a little bonus fact ;))

2.) Crystal loves to cook and bake. In fact, she loves food in general (despite her ability to forget to eat most the time). She would help her family cook and bake any chance she got, even sometimes making full on meals by herself, and because of that she’s gotten to be rather decent at it.

3.) Another food fact, she has an odd tendency to pick at her food as she eats it, often mindlessly, but especially when stressed, anxious, or nervous. It’s one of her many habits that usually give away how she’s feeling without her even noticing she’s doing it.

4.) Crystal got her name unexpectedly.. Despite how /I/ gave her her name, I still wanted it to have a purpose like my names for my characters normally do, even if it’s a cheesy one. With that being said, her parents originally had a different name picked out for her, but after she was born, they were surprised to see their baby girl had blue eyes and not brown. Both her parents eyes were brown, making it almost undeniable hers would be as well. But her eyes sparked a change of heart and they went with Crystal instead. After all, she was their little treasure, and to them, her eyes looked like little blue crystals.

5.) Even though I don’t act on it most the time, Crystal struggles with bad dreams quite often.. They started heavily when her family was taken, and since her life technically hasn’t settled down any, they haven’t gotten much better. They stem from her fears, worries, stresses, etc, like most bad dreams do.

6.) She and her mother would have full conversations in her second language all the time. They did it to help Crystal learn the language and become fluent, but they also did it to mess with her father.. who would pretend to get annoyed when they would speak in the language because he didn’t understand most of it. Because of her slightly excessive use of the language over many years, for the longest time she would often default to it without noticing.

7.) Crystal “can’t dance”. This is kind of a lie she tells anyone who asks or brings it up. She can dance, not anything extravagant, but she does know a simple waltz/slow dance decently well. Well enough that she might only step on your toes a couple times, rather than many times. She says she can’t dance because she’s too awkward to do so around others. And if you managed to get her to dance with you, it would probably look like she can’t or doesn’t really know how because of her shyness and awkward, clumsy behavior in situations like those.

8.) Crystal is not one to be assertive, she is the exact opposite of assertive, but somehow she managed to get the ability to show a little backbone in some situations.. Only, it’s when she feels she can’t win. In kind of a metaphorical sense though, it’s not actually about winning. It’s a fear thing and it doesn’t always happen, there’s factors that play into why and how it would happen. Stuff like if she feels cornered, or put in a position she’s not comfortable with in some way, she might find the ability and strength to hold her own depending on if the situation forces her to come to it. She isn’t aware she does this though, and sometimes it leads her to speak without thinking about what she’s saying first, it just happens. Funny enough, this wasn’t a trait I had intended to give her, character development just kind of handed it over, but I’m actually glad she’s developed it. Who knows, maybe it will one day come in handy.

I'm really glad I didn't ether, even though I felt like I was being pushed in that direction I know now that isn't what People wanted. Don't worry Catch isn't going anywhere :)

That was my hope that sharing my story would Encourage others, even though it was a very dark spot in my life that at that time I couldn't see a brighter side, that bright picture found me in Gods timing. And yes I am happier now, I know that pain I went though can now be used for good, to help perhaps people I don't even know and my friends like you, even though we never met in person I still Considered my friend and hope to do so for a long time :)
