1.)
Musket is a talking horse.
I was originally going to go with something else, but I liked the idea of talking animals. C.S Lewis' Horse and his boy I guess you could say partly inspired that. I loved that book, probably one of my favorites within the Chronicles.
2.) He hails from a place called the "Sanctum" (placeholder).
The Sanctum is full of a variety of other talking animals. Unlike people some animals aren't the best at vocalizing human sounds. Instead they use magic to aid in speech. For this reason they can easily switch back to their natural animal sounds and still be able to speak say, English.
**The animals from the Sanctum are NOT equivalent to animals in wilds of Rethore, they are two separate entities and species. Do not confuse them**
3.) Musket like the rest of Sanctum, sometimes wears clothes. Clothes in the Sanctum are worn for special occasions, occupations, and could even symbolize the rank and status of an individual to where they are in the social hierarchy.
4.) Musket was handpicked as a young colt to hold a seat within the house of lawmakers/lawyers/statesmen etc. Hand chosen by the Chancellor himself, Musket was also contestant to become the Chancellor's successor and right hand man.
5.) It may be obvious but later on Musket is not in the Sanctum.
As stallion he becomes Harper's steed in the wilds of Rethore.
6.) He can talk but doesn't, not since he left. So Harper thinks he's just a horse, that acts strangely sometimes.
7.) Musket has a thing for fancy clothes, and especially loves to grab hats to place them on his head to wear.
8.) Musket is not his real name, but one given to him by Harper.

I had so many tests and now they're all casted aside >:T it's important for us to battle this pandemic tho, so many immunocomprimised people...
