Since I came to that realization, I've been incredibly torn, because I love creatures with full on skull faces, and having an armored skull face is way cooler than the cute lil' almost Dreamer-looking face I gave him last, but Eater's gone for /3 years/ just about with a skull helmet, and that's in the RP too, so I want him to keep Terra's skull for sure--but then thinking realistically about that, there's /no way/ Terra's head should've been able to fit on Eater's in the first place unless Terra's a super huge Dreamer in his true form--but having a skull helmet and a skull face underneath seems like a bit of a stretch and kinda silly to me...

As it is right now, I'm gonna have him with both, maybe Terra's head has grown with Eater or something, and Eater's never seen his true form in a mirror to know he has a skull face anyway, so I'll try to have my cake and eat it too... even if it is still kind of redundant. ':s

But that's why his mouth is so much toothier now, this is his actual face here, Terra's skull still looks more like how I drew it before. Just slap that on top of this, I guess?

Eater's also got two rows of teeth on his upper jaw too, that one on the outside that gives him that overbite, and another row on the inside. I also made the inside of his mouth black, like it should've been all along XP

You know Shadow woul've let me go along forever with that too, if I hadn't realized those were ears at some point, we would've gotten lore as to why Eater has no ears X"D

It really sucks when you run into predicaments like that X'D You're handling it alright though.
Maybe he put Terra's skull on early enough in his birth that it merged to his face and grew in size with him, making it basically him? X'D I don't know, just popping ideas in case they haven't been considered yet

hmmm on the skull thing, iirc shadow said on a nightmare info post that new nightmares are slightly smaller than dreamers? and over time as they consume stuff (and dont get killed) their frame gets bigger, eventually getting bigger than dreamers.

so i think "eater put on terra's skull when he was a young/new nightmare and it fused to his face over time" works.
