1) Captain was created for an RP (One I was supposed to host) years ago. But that RP never took off (and I'm thankful it didn't, I was far from ready to be a host and tell a story). I didn't want to just get rid of Captain or forget him, he was one of my favorite designs and still is.

2) Captain was remade to fit into Elijah's and Eviah's story. But something's never changed. He was always an older, more elderly, character of mine. He cares for and raises Nina and Airiah. He's a Father figure to the girls.

3) When he was young, from his teens to his late adulthood (about 30 years old to us), he received extensive training. He pushed himself to become the rank of "Captain" in the Northern Army. In the World of Eviah, there are 4 major armies, each are designed to keep the world in balance. They're supposed to keep the peace.

They do this by monitoring dark areas, for example, the Winding Roads and the Northern Desert's Prison.

But there's often conflict between the armies. Each army is run by a different Kingdom, 1 is a human army, 1 is an elvish army, 1 a mixed army (humans, elves, shapeshifters, etc...) and 1 is dragons/dragon shapeshifters.

The humans are often the first to cause a problem, it always connects back to the King/Queen of the Land, the Royal Leader will either sometimes want to cull the magic born users in fear of their powers or out of jealousy will cull them.

But more on that later... For now we'll focus on Captain himself.

4) Captain's only real ability is shapeshifting, he has three forms, humanoid, true form and his final state. He is often seen in his true form. He has gills in all his forms, but is capable of breathing both air and water, he has two pairs of lungs and can switch breathing methods of his own will.

He can /not/ manipulate water, weather or anything fancy like that. He doesn't use magic or special abilities. Captain relies on his brain, sharp teeth and claws, and his brute strength to win fights.

5) Captain cares deeply for others, but only ones he's formed a bond with, he doesn't care a thing for strangers. He'll help them and be civil. But he wouldn't risk himself for him.

6) Captain is not his real name, his birth name, he took that name for himself. Long before Airiah and Nina. Only Elijah and one other, know Captain's real name and the story behind it.

7) Captain's species, often called the Aquatic Hounds, are a traditional and strong morals species. They only have a single lover in their lifetime, they'll choose wisely on who they become engaged to, because they will only love that person for their whole life.

That's right, I said engaged, Captain's species will Marry their Partner before anything else.

They hold Marriage and Tradition in high regards, it's frowned upon if you do anything with your partner before you marry (even so much as kiss), it's banishable from their Clans if you refuse to marry your partner (That rarely happens though, it's believed only 1 ever did such a heinous thing).

It's not a quick and easy process before getting Engaged.

A male doesn't have all those beautiful fins and frills for nothing, under the light of a full moon, his fins and frills will glow and show an array of beautiful colors. It will typically be versions of the males natural fin colors, so Captain has a light blue, each color shown would have a light blue tinge to it. Green with Light Blue, Yellow with Light Blue, etc... It will swirl and dance like the Aurora Borealis.

He will do a special dance to attract the female he has his eye on. But other Males will often try and vye for her attention too. So the Males will fight, usually to the death, and whoever is left, is the winner. The Female will choose the winner without hesitation. Each Female is looking for a powerful Male who she can rely on to protect her.

If there is no challenger to the Male who's trying to win over the Female, then she'll test him if he catches her eye. Usually three tests over the course of three years. She chooses each test and if he passes them, they will become partners.

A Female is just as loyal as the Males, both form the same life bond.

8) Captain calls Elijah his brother and Elijah calls him that, the two are not at all related by blood, but grew up raised as Brothers.

Elijah knows how to cheer Captain up, he pulled Captain out of a deep and dark time of his life, by walking into the bar Captain was at and punching him in the face.

With enough force to send Captain through the bar wall and enough to dislocate his jaw. The two fought for the next few hours, even with Captain's hanging and broken jaw. They often will fight when one is being emotional, it helps both of them to focus and get back on track.

Captain has only beat Elijah one time.
