1. Out of all my vampire characters, he is probably the most adept at shapeshifting. While most vampires experience some disorientation right after shifting, Armin is known to be able to do it quickly and fluidly. He is also comfortable with using a variety of different forms, while many vampires stick to just one or two, not taking full advantage of their ability to turn into any animal.

2. He rarely drinks human blood and has no desire to. The blood of other animals is just as effective as human, and he's pretty disapproving of vampires who feed on sentient species when there's no real reason to. He mostly hunts small animals - often birds. His hawk form makes it easy to chase them down.

3. The jacket he normally wears has a small pocket on the inner lining that's always buttoned shut. Inside this pocket are a couple of sentimental keepsakes - his old wedding ring, and an old photograph of himself with his family (from when he was still human). He stopped wearing the ring after he was Turned and forcibly separated from his family because he didn't want people to see it and ask questions.

4. His fighting style emphasises raw strength over finesse. Although he's technically quite good with a blade, he prefers to just hack and slash his way through enemies. Because of this, he prefers to wield large, heavy swords. He can hold his own in a real swordfight, but usually his habit of relying on strength over technique puts him at a disadvantage against more skilled opponents.

5. His parents separated when he was very young, probably around 3. However, they remained on good terms. His mum lived in a cottage while his dad owned a farm just down the street. Armin spent most of his time hanging out on his dad's farm, only going home when it started to get dark. He doesn't remember most of the stuff he learned there, but he did learn how to ride a horse.
(Vampires' memories tend to get really selective as they get older. XD)

6. Having his hair played with is so soothing to him that, if he's tired, he'll pretty much immediately fall asleep if someone does it. Not that very many people are privy to this particular scrap of information.

7. He likes animals, which isn't unexpected considering he grew up on a farm. If he ever got a pet, it would probably be a dog. His dad owned two black labs called Jackson and Cadence that Armin was allowed to help care for, so he has lots of fond memories of being around dogs.
He likes birds too, and used to study them as a kid. (Sending him off to watch birds was the only way his parents could get him to be quiet for a bit.)

8. When I first created him, his name was Arminus - which isn't actually a name, just a word that sounded good in my head. In the RP I used him in, other characters started calling him Armin for short and that led me to discover that 'Armin' is actually a real name. So I officially changed it. X)
(His surname, Alscher, was the result of me digging through surname websites for several hours until I found something that fit.)
