Riptide is the name of that hideous amalgamation. It is not his original name. In his former life, it was just Rip.

2. )
Rip is one of my oldest character that I actively use. He was my first special boi. Everyone has that one oc, for me it ended up being him.

He was originally created as a species called #Zanerak, I do not have the original artwork from when they were first made. I have lost it for a long time now.
Most of his early art was deleted when I terminated my first account. The species itself I have scrapped, but his raptor form still resembles his older designs.

Another bonus fact. I created the Zanerak species when I was supposed to be working on geometry.

He is not a shifter, I actually really try not to use shifters. I'm not big on characters with a million different forms.It's hard to keep track of and I find it to be overrated. I find they can easily become over powered, leaving our normal bois unable to defend themselves. :((

That being said I still have characters with multiple forms. Though for the world of Rethore in particular there are specific rules and guidelines. They aren't quite shifters, in fact traditional shifters don't really exist.

So if a character changes form that's something you should pay attention to. It could be either symbolic, literal, or I'm just screwing around- which I do a lot. ;)

Rip is a half breed, human and elf. Like his elven/fae ancestors Rip has sharp senses in both the audio and visual. He can even manipulate magic, though it reacts.. oddly due to his ancestory.

He's a dirty boy with an odd sense of humor. Rip has gambled cheated, smuggled, and all other nasty things a person should not do.
It should come to no surprise that Rip has been involved in a shady field. These include smuggling, thievery, and even infiltration.

Rip has been used in several rps, and was the first character I guess you could say, formally roleplayed with? At those times he had just the beast form, I actually didn't want to make him a human form. But overtime he went through change and now he has one.

He was first part of FaF and after I left I tried soloing with him in a few one on ones. Neither of them really took off the way I wanted, and he never did much either. Except roll in dirt and hiss at things, I think.

Currently I've found a place for him in my main world. Any past stories/rps outside of that world are not canonical.
I don't know if I'll ever bring him back into rps, I'd like to keep him there for now. Rethore is very restricting in some aspects, so he remains for now a closed off character. :)

I didn't really go to in depth for him. I'm not sure if I'm ready to reveal all the rough concepts. Lol

***Elves and Fae will be used somewhat interchangeably, they are basically, subraces of each other and ofcourse can be traced back to the first humans.

These facts are sprinkled with salt because Riptide came from the sea.

Really? Lol, that’s cool! And yeah, classic rock is great. I haven’t listened to those others much though.. But from what I think I have heard, they’re rather cool.

Eyyyy it's Rip! I love this guy (I think I'm just a sucker for mysterious characters XD). Both of his forms look really cool, I always wondered whether he was a shapeshifter or whether there was some other meaning to it.

I kinda have the opposite opinion to you on shifters; I love them and a good chunk of my characters can shift. XD Though for most of them I try to keep it reasonable, like only having two different forms rather than lots, and the vampires only being able to shift into 'regular' animals--

I love how obvious it was.

For surnames, I usually either go on a site like Behindthesurname and search for them based on what initial letter/meaning/etc I want them to have, or I just use whatever random surname comes into my head. XD Surnames don't matter that much to me, first names are more important.
