I was both surprised and nervous when I saw I was tagged for Sapphire, and you might get a glimpse as to why with some of the facts. I haven’t put a lot out there about her, so I guess it shouldn’t have surprised me, but it’s a bit hard to do deeper, lower than surface facts on Sapphire because of her story. I’m going to try my best though, so here we go~

1.) She hates physical contact. High-fives are fine, but hugs or even simple touches to the shoulder and such she can’t stand.. Simply put, she likes her personal space.

2.) Her favorite food is Chinese, and literally anything with noodles.

3.) Sapphire loves music, for her it’s a way to release how she’s feeling and figure out what’s going on in her head or calm down what’s going on in her head. Her favorite types are rock, of varying degrees, and surprisingly enough, classic instrumental. Yes, you read that right. Sometimes music without words is just as good as music with words. It depends on her mood though, what she likes when she likes it. You will never see her without headphones or earphones somewhere on or around her.

4.) Out of any of my other characters, Sapphire by far has the worst backstory for many reasons.. Her past has left her deeply scarred and with many characteristics and problems she either has or hasn’t learned to deal with. Some examples are; she’s highly sensitive, little things can cause big emotional changes in her, but in most cases her emotions come off in an aggressive way as she doesn’t know how to let them out any other way and won’t be seen as weak in any sense of the word. Without getting to know her, she will seem very cold and distant, not talkative, and seemingly not interested in anything or anyone, this is how she protects herself. But getting to know her is difficult, she stays very closed off, and if she feels like you’re trying to dig too deep, or if you’re asking sensitive questions, instead of saying she’d rather not talk about a subject, she will likely either just change it, not respond, or become stubborn and hostile. For a lack of better words, she’s just a very intense person, but in a quiet way until provoked.

5.) Playing off the last fact, while she may come off as cold and distant, when she gets attached to someone and feels like she trusts them, she can be very outgoing in her own ways with that person. To give you an idea of what I mean, with Nick (because their stories are still intertwined), who is someone she trusts, she will joke and tease, and go out on little spontaneous adventures and just hang out and have a good time, but with anyone else, not so much. You’d be lucky to get a genuine smile out of her. It’s not that she’s not capable of caring and all that, she just has a harder time feeling safe and comfortable with others to show more vulnerable emotions like happiness or compassion. She’s /very/ protective of those she cares about too, she’s the kind of person that if she learned someone she cared about was hurt by someone in any way, she’d go find that person and scare them into never showing their face around them again.

6.) Her favorite colors are black, blue, and dull neutral tones. But you might be surprised to know she really enjoys the colors yellow, green, and lavender as well.

7.) For the most part, she’s rather fearless. Not much scares her, heights, fast and dangerous roller coasters, clowns, creepy guys using pick-up lines, none of that bothers her (she’ll put the creepy guys in their place real quick). But she does have some deeply rooted fears that, if she can help it, she will avoid at all costs. A couple of them are overly crowded spaces, places she can’t escape from quickly, and small, dark, closed off spaces. While she keeps herself out of those situations most the time, there’s been a few slip-ups in the past, and when she found herself stuck in one, it was not a pretty sight to witness. Sometimes there are exceptions, but more likely than not.

8.) To end on a more lighthearted note, Sapphire knows how and loves to play the drums and piano, and she’s currently in the process of learning the guitar as well.

There are so many levels and exceptions and reasons for certain things about Sapph that it’s hard to fit it all and make it make sense in some of these. But regardless, hopefully this was interesting to read and allowed y’all to get to know Sapphire a little better. :3
